Steve Burton gave an interview with Fairman where he made his displeasure known. Ha, I knew that he was "anonymous" unhappy actor from GH. He is whining about all sorts, but bottom line, he is getting squeezed to the side by Michael Easton.

After thinking about it, I have come to the realization that they are both equally dire. Women fling themselves at them for no comprehensible reason and the characters are played by actors who look perpetually bored.

I think thats a good possibility. This is a business and there is only so much money to go around. Ive wondered how they have been able to afford 5 high priced actors already, Geary, Bernard, Burton, Howarth, and Easton. Something has to give. Firing or writing out lower priced talent only goes so far.

Easton and Burton are in essence playing the same character. Is there really a need for 2 of them

I think that pay cuts are far more likely than GH firing Steve Burton. I have no inside info, but I would think that Easton and Howarth are making less than they did on OLTL and less than Geary, Benard, and Burton. I can see GH slicing Geary, Benard, and Burton's salaries some more and taking more supporting characters off contract. By hiring Easton and Howarth, GH has strengthen its hand in future contract negotiations. They can let Burton walk away without to much fuss if he balks at the salary cut.

Btw, Kelly Monaco also signed a one year contract.

This is a sexist industry and I doubt any of these women are making the money the men do. Look at how much Hollywood pays male stars vs females. None of these women are Susan Lucci and are relatively disposable. Particularly since most are over 40 or close to it. It's an industry with a huge double standard.
