I don't see how it's any different then Niki Smith...People laughed at her for years. She was another personality, and an entertaining one. Just like Connie. Except Niki was.....better.

Watch the gifs. Its a punch that initiated the thing

That cheap thing at the start?

Did they punch each other after that?

Niki wasn't in any stories about how hot it is to rape a mentally ill woman.

I know I'll get stoned for this, but I still don't see Johnny/Connie as rape....Technically "Kate" is mentally ill I guess. But Connie's one half of Kate. And Kate may not have consented, but Connie did. Just like when Kate sleeps with Sonny, Connie isn't consenting cause she hates him. Was it wrong of Johnny? Yes. But rape? Eh..

Sonny doesn't know about Connie. Johnny knew, and said it was rape. Connie had a "funny" scene where she said she would cry rape.

The show wanted viewers to get hot over a mentally ill woman giving it up, and also take a little jab at people who see this as rape. RC loves this type of thing.

You've probably seen as much as I have. I guess it's not worth rehashing anyway. I just hate seeing grown women repeatedly written like trash. Carly and Connie are both disgusting.

Y'all are crazy, that fight was delicious. Bitches being tossed around, dragged across the floor, and choked? HOLLA.

Please that was one of those cheap 80s style fights where no one really got hurt because they barely touched each other. Now Nicole and Sami's fight where both were bloodly was a a better fight

Niki was reviled in the last 10 years. The writing and story was more complex in the 80s and 90s but by the time Niki was appearing inthe 00s, the DID was a complete joke and she became a complete cartoon, even more so than before. Playing Niki brought out the worst in ES and the writing wasnt good.

I think we're supposed to laugh at everything she does. Even if Sullivan could act, there's nothing serious about someone who has a Sweathog accent and who behaves like a parody of an 18 year old. This is a knockoff of when Ron wanted viewers to laugh at Jessica almost being raped by her own father, and turning into a teenager.

I don't think that was the intention with that 'twist' . . . first off, that whole Feb. Sweeps was expediently rewritten and there was a fair amount of comedy with Nurse Charles/Stacy and Charlie/Dorian, but even with those pairs, the drama got serious once everyone was in too deep. But the Mitch/Jess thing, I think, was meant to reinforce Mitch's sicko-ness/insanity and, ya, to shock the audience. I thought it was really effective, however unpopular an opinion that might be. I hated the following teen Jess story, though.

The problem with how RC has been straddling between the comedy and seriousness on GH is that the line isn't defined. Everything he had success with on OLTL is not translating on GH (not that he should be trying to mimic his "One Life" style anyway) . . . it's obvs. to me that Connie's supposed to be funny, but it's disturbingly not obvs. to me if we're supposed to take Johnny's anxiety over what he did (and it was reprehensible and I hate he's being thrown under the Sonny bus) seriously. Connie reacted the way she did because that's in line with her 'characterization,' but how the audience was supposed to react felt ambiguous and that's troubling given the content.

I think the scenes with Mitch and Jessica were supposed to be some type of shock value turn-on. Look how far they're taking this, is he going to have sex with her, OMG, this is wild stuff! There was a lot of sadism in these scenes, as they wrote it as very sexual.

That they never addressed this afterwards, instead having Viki upset over Charlie hanging out with Dorian, not upset over her daughter's brainwashing and near-rape, tells me they thought it was hot and cool, nothing more. Then they turned it into haha time with Teen Jess.

but it's disturbingly not obvs. to me if we're supposed to take Johnny's anxiety over what he did (and it was reprehensible and I hate he's being thrown under the Sonny bus) seriously

I think we're supposed to see this as a sign of what a bad person Johnny is. He knows it was rape, and he did it anyway. RC's heroes, like Victor, and Ford, never saw what they did as rape. They saw what they did as love. And Ron backed them up all the way.

I just saw this on Tumblr and I love it. Its exactly how I feel

Letter to Jason Morgan

Dear Jason,

Ok, so I get it. Sam shouldn’t have told John McBain all your business, and she definitely shouldn’t have opened the paternity results with him instead of you. BUT dude, you were pretty much the most worthless support system ever after Sam was raped. You were freaking angry all the time, and she couldn’t even talk to you about what happened without you freaking out and seizuring and [!@#$%^&*]. So now that she finds out Franco is your twin AND the baby is his, not yours, she’s supposed to believe you will take the news calmly and supportively? Not likely, buddy. You are literally two seconds away from losing your [!@#$%^&*] whenever anyone even mentions Franco’s name. And she was freaking right! Instead of being supportive, you’re all disgusted and terrible to her. I love you guys together, but damnit Jason you are pissing me off. Stop being such a dick, and freaking hug your wife! Tell her you will love her and this baby no matter what, and that it’s your baby not his, who gives a [!@#$%^&*] what the DNA results say. Tell her it will be alright. THAT’S what you should be doing now. Not correcting her when she says “This is our baby”. “It’s YOUR baby”. What the [!@#$%^&*] is that?! I almost threw my remote at the TV. I literally almost threw my remote across the room and into my TV. That is ridiculous. OH, and another thing, Mr. Hypocrite. She talked to a stranger, someone who she has no history with (at least not on this show! lol) about a problem that she rightfully believed you would not handle well. YOU, on the other hand, are confiding in your ex-girlfriend. You know the one you cheated on her with, snuck around with, threatened to KILL her for, and shared a child with? You know, that one? You not only admitted to Elizabeth that you and Sam are having problems, but you told her about Sam’s rape! That’s freaking terrible! How could you share something so personal with your ex, a person you know Sam is so insecure about? Unbelievable gall you have getting mad at Sam for talking to John McBain.

P.S. Try to remember that your wife just got confirmation that she was, in fact, raped on her honeymoon. You better get your [!@#$%^&*] together, Stone Cold (that name has never been more appropriate, btw). McBam is looking pretty good right now.

Sincerely,

Not Happy With You, Sir

I wonder why people are so surprised by this behavior, or see it as wrong. This is the typical behavior of men on today's soaps. We're supposed to cheer when men throw women out of ambulances, when men terrorize women into miscarriages and throw their fetuses into the fire, when men bar women from seeing their dying children, when men laugh about the gang rape they led.

The worst of this is the only reason Jason's behavior is even slightly questioned by the show is because they want Sam to run to another man.

Lol I'm sorry but I laughed when Victor did that to Diane's lying ass. She was faking misscarrying his child while trying to steal his company away at the same time and making it look like he was dying. And on top of that it was misuse of emergency services. She was far from innocent when he threw her out of the ambulance. And were we supposed to cheer on Adam for the fetus stuff because most of the town hates him and Ashley gives him a verbal beatdown any chance she gets.
