That is what baffles me about this story. I think must soaps have been consistent that DID is the result of childhood drama (sexual/physical abuse). We have been told that Connie was this wild child hellraiser and troublemaker that one day decided to leave Bensonhurst, change her ways, change her name and go to college. We assumed that was a conscious decision.

So are we also to assume that little girl Connie was more like Kate and developed bad girl Connie to protect who we know as Kate from some type of abuse? Connie was in control throughout her teens, then Kate came into play when she wanted out of Bensonhurst and that Connie lay dormant all these years until Kate was shot at the wedding? Is there a gatekeeper like Jean Randolph pulling all the strings?

The part I loved the most was Todd saying how much he missed everyone when he was imprisoned--even Tea, although he couldn't figure out at that moment why (join the club-seriously, hating Tea actually felt good yesterday, how much do I miss my show? But there it is.).

That's what makes no sense. For all intensive purposes Connie existed first. History has told us that much from Sonny's stories about how wild Kate/Connie was when she was younger. So how can Kate be the main alter? Are we supposed to believe Connie just now manifested or has she been popping out all threw out her childhood and adult years? None of it really makes any sense.

Thank you! This is my point exactly! Kate is a name Connie pulled from the sky to fit the lifestyle she was going to have. Before idiots 1 & 2 came along, there was not a hint of DID!

Are we to believe Connie conjured up Kate to smooth out the rough edges and then create chaos as a reason to be both people? This is simply convoluted chit and Johnny is no rapist!

Actually Connie being a wildchild was a complete rewrite as before we were told Connie wasn't the wildchild. She was the hardworking young girl who really wanted to work in fashion, created her versions of the runway styles at home using her sewing machine, and turned her nose down on the neighborhood. Kate was the anglo name she chose as to not be associated with the old neighborhood and the Italian stereotypes.

Even when & If Vic shows up alive why should Tea apologize to Todd. Todd still kidnapped her brother, Tomas and held him captive, forcing him to confess to victor's murder. Todd did not kill Victor but he still abducted Tomas. He's far from innocent

Exactly and the big thing is he shows NO remorse for any of it. Maybe if he was sorry that would go a long way but he isn't

Kate is not an alter. The show has never stated or implied that she is

She was wild with Sonny, Megan Ward's Kate and Sonny both talked about how they would act out and be wild during their early Bensonhurst days, but she repressed it when she left and went to school for whatever reason. That was the whole thing about Kate and Sonny's relationship that Kate didn't want to be in love with Sonny because he represented her Bensonhurst days which were the complete and polar opposite of who she wanted to be as a Fashion Queen. That was the whole conflicted character thing that culminated in Kate.

I didn't say Kate was an alter. I said this whole thing about Kate vs. Connie doesn't make sense. The show has gone on record saying that Connie existed first and that she created the alternative identity in Kate to exist in the fashion world and distance herself from the Bensonhurt life, whatever that is supposed to mean. There could be a case made for either of them being the dominant personality. Considering she is known as both personalities and as both people. Connie however is her given name from birth. Look at some quotes that Megan Ward has gone on record talking about Connie and Kate even she references them as being a complete person and a complete entity that changes based on the scene. Once you read them you can see where the confusion comes from. Because Kate has existed and continues to exist just as Connie does.

Kate Howard is an identity that Connie Falconeri created for herself to make it easier to leave her old life behind and enter the fashion industry. She is the same person, but with a name change. I liken it to Carly who's original name was Caroline Benson but changed her nme and came on as Carly Roberts. Still the same person

According to the show since reuniting with Sonny, Kate's psyche has split and created an alternate personality named Connie, based on her teen years. This Connie was created for the sole reason to protect Kate bc she feels Sonny is too dangerous for her (as a result of her being shot the last time they were together). Connie is completely one dimensional and represents wildness, lack of inhibition and she does what she feels is best for Kate, even if it ends up hurting others bc she is not concerned for them. She is not real or a whole person which is why she is so out there representing but one side to Kate, a side she has repressed in order to adjust to the new life she created for herself.

So0 bottom line. Kate is NOT an alter. She is the host, the main persona and has always existed. Connie is an alter, and a result of her mental illness.

They probably should have just named this alter a different name like Bonnie to avoid confusion but it is what it is and really not that hard to follow

I never understand why they write Tea as enabling rape and murder and yet still passing judgment.

The Montez werent a mob family. Tea worked for Ray Montez who started on the show in a Columbia prison for murdering his first wife, a crime he did not commit. Tea helped him get off of that charge when his second wife, Vanessa confessed to the murder.It eventually came out that his daughter Lola killed his first wife. Ray, himself was not a killer
