I say this with love, but I HATE the hand writing font usage on Digest's newest covers and I HATE "your #1 soap source" font as well. It makes the magazine look cheap and any beauty the cover used to represent is just gone because of it (even if the beauty is still in the picture use).

These busy collages cheapen the look. Put one good primary photo on the cver, and maybe a few smaller icons for sub-stories. They really do not need as cluttered a cover anymore, especially since there are only 4 soaps on the air.

Sami looks like someone sewed her mouth shut.

It looks like those ugly Weekly covers of the last decade.

The cover is too cluttered. I don't mind the handwriting font, but I agree it kind of makes the magazine look cheap.

Agreed. Cheap & cluttered.

I dont know who is in charge of the covers now bc IA, they are way too cluttered. Instead of picking 2 or 3 lead stories and running with it, this approach seems rather desperate by throwing as much as possible to grab reader's attentions

Why is the Y&R name getting a normal font/design approach on covers, while DAYS is consistently getting that stupid script font similar to the annoying "Your #1 Soap Source"? It it tacky, stupid and ridiculous.

SOAPS BIGGEST ADDICTS over pictures of Jess Walton and Michael Damien is especially unfortunate for Jess who went to rehab in the early 1980s.

I didnt know it. Now looking at that it makes it look like she fell off the wagon and thats why she is leaving the show. How tacky

Exactly. It's pretty damn terrible. Half the people passing that cover in a supermarket would say "Jess Walton's an addict?! She's left Y&R for rehab!"....instead of actually reading the story of "Jess Walton moved to Oregon, months ago and wants to be a good grandma for the first 6 months of her grandchild's life, she'll be back at Y&R in the fall"...damn SOD.

As awful as that is, at least they didn't choose a photo which makes her look possessed. I can't say the same for Michael Damian. His last name fits.
