LOGO Dumps All Gay Programming

There was nothing really on this channel that marketed well towards Gays initially from what I remember. I do recall seeing an odd QAF showing every once which I initially liked but the programming has always been the worst part of the channel.

I remember when I started seeing Buffy and Nip/tuck reruns on the channel and trying to rectify how that was gay programming.

Yeah as the gay channel Logo has failed. I mean I liked them early on with Queer as Folk reruns, Sordid Lives, airing the Beautiful People etc. but most of their programming left a lot to be desired personally.

It shouldn't come as a surprise either giving how recently The History Channel seemed to have dumped its actual history programs, Weather Channel attempting to show movies, and other numerous examples of specialty channels abandoning their original intent altogether. 15 years ago the 500 channel universe sounded fun and like a dream. Today the 500 channel universe has failed epically.

Now The Weather Channel has a million documentaries, most of which are just about cheap shock value, and this runs in place of most weather coverage. You have to rely on local programming to find out weather - what was the point of the channel in the first place?

You're right that 500 channels is a joke. That's why when I hear people say, "No one watches the networks because of cable," I never buy it, because most cable channels are exactly the same.

Soapnet is nowhere near as soap heavy as it was in the early years, but it hasnt dropped all soap programming from its schedule. Its still very soap focused even if they do feature stuff that would best be kept to Lifetime or E!

I'm glad someone has called this out because so many of these pseudo documentary shows are worthless with little details and the most arrogant, condescending bad narration to them as they filter out across so many networks (ie Weather, Discovery etc.) . If I want to stick with a documentary I'll stick with something from either PBS or BBC.

You're right, but it does seem that increasingly they go for more "general" programming.

Weather Channel in the US shows documentaries? LOL Weird--here it's just constant weather updated around the country lol. But as Carl said that's the thing with the majority of these specialty channels (at least the cable channels that show commercials--), they start off with some sort of concept and intention and then after a few years I swear they all are showing the same things, basically. Here in Canada we have various stations that started with interesting programming, like Bravo (no connection to the American one confusingly) which had a lot of arts/theatre/dance programming. Now it occasionally ahs something interesting, but basically shows a lot of Law and Order.

Ha you beat me to it.

    • I don't expect Lois to be the same person she was 25 years ago, but she's definitely lost a lot of what made Lois unique.  It's clear the show doesn't know how to write for her, and the sole purpose of Lois is to hide this Gio secret.  It's a shame she doesn't interact with more of the canvas.  It's a waste of Rena's talents. I like Brook Kerr most of the time.  She can be hit or miss.  I totally get what you are saying about her line readings too.  I honestly think the character really suffers being stuck in the Curtis pairing.  She's much better than Tanisha Harper's Jordan lol.
    • Friday and yesterday's episode is what daytime television should be. The other shows airing could take a page from yesterday's show.  I loved the rage, hurt and anger Nicole unleashed on Ted.  Daphnee should be up for an Emmy nom for these scenes.  It broke my heart to see how Dana had locked Eva out.  I do feel sorry for Eva.    I am still bumfuzzled as to why Leslie/Dana went to the DuPree's and asked them to accept Kat UNLESS Eva is really Kat's twin (and really Nicole and Ted's daughter that maybe they though they lost or an embryo Dana/Leslie stole??) I loved how Anita and Vernon both shot her down.    Ohhh and let me just say Friday and yesterday was the MOST fire I have seen Martin have since the show started.  Maybe Brandon Clayborn is coming into his own with the role finally.
    • You've been seeing him all along. You just didn't know it was him, I guess.

    • Where to for Dana? She's pissed off the Duprees (most of the cast), alienated her daughter and will she be welcomed by the Have Nots at the diner? Maybe she can befriend Ashley and Derek and liven up their story.
    • Melissa Ordway announced she was moved to recurring back in November but is still credited with the contract cast members.
    • I think of Evan as a smarmy bast*rd. Maybe you'll like that description. You certainly have him pegged correctly since he is just a soldier following "Admiral" Iris's marching orders.
    • So far the only interest I've seen from Evan to Amanda has been listening to Iris's orders to go and seduce her.  So far he hasn't been successful... but who knows. Amanda is unbearable at times. Entitled, spoiled... idiotic. Iris... so blatantly manipulating her and Amanda takes the bait. But I guess... when she gets in trouble... she'll have a chance to learn. That's what makes these shows so interesting.    Oh, no, don't worry. You haven't ruined a thing. Evan has not been on my radar that much... he was not one of the characters I was caring particularly... so nothing much has been changed for me. I don't think he has the stuff to ruin Rachel's life. He's just a pretty guy that can follow orders. Iris on the other hand... is dangerous.

P.S Maybe Evan will surprise me. Who knows.
    • The show has gone back to 10/10 entertainment! I'm glad that I was right in feeling that what were experiencing were growing pains. I'm sure they are not over yet, but I'll know that we always comeback to quality drama. I think it's going to be a hell of ride (in a good way) from this moment on. BTG has that magic that not a lot of shows have. I'll update more... when I'm done catching up.
    • So very glad to hear this. Yesterday I suddenly thought; OMG, what about spoilers, have I just  ruined things for Maxim in getting carried away with interest in Evan, who was so well-written & well-acted. BTW, your fan review of this episode was a sight for eyes that had not seen one of these for a little bit too long, LOL!!!  Mitch is also fascinating to me but in his case it's because he was all in with Janice & her nefarious plan & then he did this turnabout we've mentioned & he basically got off scot-free.
