Chris Goutman wanted more of a hunk for Andy Dixon role on ATWT & almost recast when Scott Defeterias left in 2000, But Goutman never did.

Wendy Riche considered recasting Robin Scorpio in 1992. Monty threatened the 1984-1985 Frisco recast to be permanent if Jack Wagner didn't get his act together.

Jenny Gardner on AMC was going to be recasted, but they felt a story of a young grieving Greg would be the more interesting, plus AMC already had two other recasts in Nina and Liza.

Robin Mattson would have killed that role and made it actually memorable, not the bore that Grace turned into.

Wendy Riche considered recasting Robin Scorpio in 1992.

I guess Nancy Hughes may have been recast in 1956. Irna Phillips was not happy with Helen Wagner and sent Nancy on vacation after 13 weeks.but the decision was made to retain Wagner and she resumed the role.

I don't know if this counts, but around the time Joan Collins had joined GL as Alex there was some serious consideration into recasting Roger with Charles Keating being named as a possibility.
