It's going to be a toss up. Frankly, ABC hasn't been making a lot of good decisions for a few years, so it won't surprise me if Devious Maids isn't picked up.

The good news is that it's great for Lucci's career whether it's picked up or not because the pilot's been seen by everyone in the industry and whatever issues there might be with the pilot, apparently Lucci is fantastic in it.

ABC is going to screw her over again! ANNOYING!

She was only playing the boss. And they just gave her a part on Army Wives.

Yeah, but that's just a guest starring role. She would've been a regular on DM.

Don't blame ABC--Marc Cherry is a TERRIBLE, one note writer and his attempts after Desperate Housewives have been terrible. His Hallelujah pilot was a big deal and when ABC saw it they were shocked at how bad it was. I doubt this was one that bad, but probably too samey to DH and the four leads thing was lazy. I think he'll be a tv one hit wonder.

Can you tell me more about Hallejulah?

I agree that he was one-note. Some feel Golden Girls declined when he showed up, and Desperate Housewives had one of the fastest declines in quality ever.

I do think the show had potential, although that title sounds so porny and vacuous.

I think this was bad timing for a campy soap to be on the air - everything is so serious now in TV. GCB just flopped. And that lawsuit can't help matters.

And the thing is...was Desperate Housewives really a campy soap? I don't think it was. I think it was more a black comedy and even then it wasn't that for long. Desperate Housewives didn't always take itself seriously and I think that's what ultimately hurt it, it became self aware...Cherry will be a one hit TV wonder and I hope Nicollette Sheridan is victorious in her lawsuit.

Dallas is coming back to TNT this summer, it will be interesting to see how a REAL prime time soap does.

Desperate Housewives was always marketed as a black comedy/dramedy within the industry. Not to mention, it was submitted in the comedy category at every award show.

Even as a black comedy/dramedy, the show never excelled creatively IMO.

The only thing "soap" about it was that it had season-long arcs and pantomime villains (which were horribly executed anyway).

Seriously ABC, WTF? Between this and GCB, there's not much reason for me to be watching ABC primetime next fall
