They make it sound like she attacked him. All she said was she supports gay rights. That type of fake controversy annoys me. I'm glad she spoke up.

And I hated Growing Pains, what a crappy whitewashed version of the superior Family Ties.

I can see the resemblance Alvin but didnt till you brought it up. The only difference is that the roles were reversed with Carol being the brains instead of Mike.

The most entertaining part of Family Ties for me was the Mad parody, especially when they kept setting up flashback segues, and asking why no one ever left the house.

I think it is more likely that back in the day he lived the lifestyle of a teen heartthrob - drugs, drinking, sex, etc... - and he was saved by jesus and just placed his addictive needs and obsession on that.
