GH: Discussion for the Month of March

I have to agree with this! I've hated Starr since she hit puberty (possibly before that), and KA as an actress really bugs me. Let's just call her a performer and leave it at that...

I had hoped Bree would come (instead of KA) on for Johnny, but alas his Oedipus Complex needed to be re-visited!

Carly is a bitch, she's selfish, juvenile and believes she owns the men in her life, hence the animosity towards other woman, but somewhere in there, she had a heart and did the right thing and helped others do the right thing. I loved her even though she has me SMH at times, but I never questioned her love for the people she cared about. Currently, there is absolutely no rhyme or reason for her actions when you compare her to Wolf's Carly (and sometimes Guza). She had grown effortlessy. RC came in and took her back to the mob groupie gutter filth to avoid Carly having a black lover. Unfortunately, it looks as if the day to day script writers for these characters change, so it makes sense that the characters make no sense, but overall, RC's Carly is an absolute ridiculous fail! Does he realize that one of her children was shot in the head, murdered his stepmother, went to jail and was raped? Has he any idea that her middle child is away in military school because his father's life is too dangerous? What about the kid who has Jake's kidney? RC threw this all out the window, and it looks bad. Just terrible!

It's just a case of "Penis Envy", which has been going on for years! Cartooni promptly removed both black males from the GH canvas and increased Piph's airtime because black characters are pointless and can be interchanged and no one will notice. I'm in no hurry to watch this Jemima crap any longer!

I cant speak to Wolfe's Carly bc I wasnt watching for the bulk of his run but Guza's Carly under LW was dreadful and consistent with what we are seeing today. She had no heart. She was a hypocritical bully who acts like her sh-t dont stink. Carly does the right thing and tries to help others? Wow, I cant even with that. She had no growth. She was a mob apologist who never learned from her lessons despite seeing how she adn her kids were affected by Sonny and Jason. She constantly butts herself in business that doesnt concern her. Rememebr the summer she ignored her kids so she could cook up some scheme to get Brook Lynn to get revenge on Lulu and Dante for her. How about the "THAT WOMAN" phase which ran into last year when Brenda was here. How many times has she denounced Sonny and the mob (while still loving and accepting Jason's place in it) only to go right on back to supporting Sonny. She never stays away for too long. How many women has she torn apart for no reason except that she viewed them as a threat. She's always been a ridiculous fail of a character under LW.

This is Carly. Loud, shrill, barking orders.

And RC is the one that stopped Carly from getting a black lover? Carly and Shawn were not happening. It was a bunch of nothing and she was thrown to Johnny before RC ever came on the scene. Dont blame that one on him. Anyone could tell you Carly and Shawn was never gonna happen. Really its a surprise he's not dead yet considering the short life span black males tend to have on this show

I've always felt that Carly at least believed she had a good reason for treating the other women so poorly - protecting what she felt was hers. Garin Wolf had moved her away from this. He matured her. Non Carly fans began enjoying her. However, if you look at her now, RC has her moving around causing trouble in every story but her own. Her sole purpose is to move the other stories along. She's simply tattling and it looks ridiculous on a 40 year old.

Carly isnt treating any woman poorly at the moment. Her going to Jason about Robin isnt about tattling or hurting Sam. Sam is irrelevant to her. She honestly thinks Jason needed to know about Robin and she was flabberghasted that Sam had the gaul to prevent her from seeing him. Sam's been a trooper and tends to let Carly walk all over her while walking out the room to let her have any free time with Jason when Carly demands it. Things have changed with Sam growing a backbone and standing up to her, so Carly found a way to try and get around her bc she still considers herself #1 in Jason's life and always has and this was more of a powerplay to assert her position in his life that she assumes she still has

    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
