ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?

I don't consider Charity Rahmer a soap star either, even if she had a long term contract and was let go quickly. To me a Cam is a soap opera alum as he was on Y&R...if a famous person is a guest on a soap as themselves they aren't a soap star or alum, if they play an actual character I'd begrudgingly use alum. I don't even consider the actors who appeared on online AMC or OLTL who weren't on the shows prior to the web as soap stars (except if I said star of the online version of AMC or star of the online version of OLTL).

Getting back on topic, Tina Sloan (Lillian from GL) tweeted earlier this week that she was at an event where she saw Susan Lucci and Agnes Nixon at the next table chatting.

I'd consider the people who were only on the online versions of AMC or OLTL as soap alums, not soap stars--the same way I see other actors who were on soaps for a short amount of time. I should have clarified that, sorry. (Once I read an article, where writer referenced Ron Raines as a OLTL star, and he appeared on less than 10 episodes of the online version. He wasn't a OLTL star even if due to his time on GL, I would consider him a GL star or a soap opera star.) The shows didn't last long enough in that format to get any new performers to the point of being stars within the genre though they were stars of that version. I don't consider people who are alumni of short-lived prime-time soaps as soap stars regardless of how large their role was either. (I could ramble on this for hours.)

Kelly Sullivan wouldn't be the first to get a job on a kids' show after appearing in daytime.

I also wanted to mention that Annie Wershing (ex-Amelia,GH) was on the Hallee Berry's summer replacement show premiere Extant.

I dont know if she qualifies as a soap star to others but she does to me. I loved Amelia and she was perfect for sonny considering she had no qualms about using the manwhore for mind-bending sex and nothing else :)

    • For novelizations that were promoted as being "based on the actual scripts," the Soaps & Serials books were weakly written, missing major details, and didn't really adhere to the source material. I bought them all when the company lunched, but was quickly disappointed by what I was reading. I wasn't surprised when S&S folded. I sold all my copies on eBay.
    • Did they show Nina telling Ric about the Sasha secret, or did that happen off-camera? I was surprised at the curves they were having Emma show today in her bikini!
    • LOL...I was going to say there were a couple of times Vanessa just wailed on him. it was some time after he left her at the altar, and she says something like "that felt good...I'd like to do it again!" Jordan must've embraced the physicality, because he's always doing something.
    • New episode on Memorial Day. I wonder if it will happen again on the 4th of July. Maybe there's a Canadian national holiday coming up soon where they will preempt BTG so that it lines up with the US again. I don't know if Canadian TV is similar to the US in that regard.  I need the Articulettes to align sonically with Labelle, just because I need this group to have their own group hit a la Lady Marmalade and I need Anita to be up there giving us some New Attitude. Not that I think we will actually get some music, but I would live for this.
    • Thank You Very much for these and the episodes of Berrenger's!!!
    • I admit...when Tide came into frame, I chuckled. But when the slow music started with the pan-up and over the clothes, I hollered.   Well, she ain't alone today. Cuz how he pulled up those strings...hehe.
    • @Paul Raven Thanks again. I guess this is the "demon fetus" story I remember reading about. I wonder if the dream plays out any better onscreen. And of course Tom Baldwin is back for more Steve/Audrey misery. I wonder if Lee returns in time to interact with him again. Mellie - I was going to ask if Shonda Rhimes was watching but she would have been 6 around this time. You never know...I probably started soaps around then. Speaking of Lee:

    • It's really strange. DAYS did such a great job getting back characters/actors from the past that it's odd there's no Alison Sweeney. I have no evidence of anything, but I'm going to put this on Sweeney. Maybe she had to make another pie in some Hallmark Mystery movie.   Christopher Sean was so good. That was some real and beautiful acting. Then there's Chandler Massey, who continues to either smirk through scenes or stand around acting like a dope. WTF is going on with him?   Overall, the cast continues to do stellar work. It doesn't get much better than this. If this were the end of DAYS' run, it would be a fitting legacy,
    • has canada been a day ahead from the beginning — or did they get a new episode on memorial day, when cbs aired a rerun here?
    • I was not expecting the Tide shot though  Silk Press Sheila was so checking for Andre. I'm like "damn girl you ready to risk it all for that man".
