I'm late responding, but this was such an amazing movie! This is what I want to see represented at the Oscars, but I'm doubtful. June Squibb and Richard Roundtree both were brilliant, but everybody in the cast was. Parker Posey and Clark Gregg were both amazing and the actor playing Thelma's grandson was a charming deadbeat. It had a good mix of heart, comedy and some clever action.

I wish we could get more tv shows/movies around people in their 80s and 90s. We don't see it enough, but when we do it shows that there is something there worth seeing.

June Squibb was nominated for an academy award for Nebraska which was a pretty quirky film too (Parker Posey seems to specialize in quirky as well) so it’s not beyond the realm of possibility for her to be nominated for Thelma though movies released before September usually need a re-release to remind prospective voters of the worthiness of the movie. I think it may also depend on what other movies are released and what impact they make- so far, a surprising number of flops but it’s still early.

Debbi Morgan got some press lately for her feelings on the Jonathan Majors/Meagan Good "relationship," but it does underscore that she was in Tyler Perry's latest project, Divorce in the Black. Always nice to hear she's working.

With the A.V. Club returning to its classic format and bringing back many of its old writers, we also have Blair Underwood (ex-OLTL) doing Will Harris' always-essential Random Roles about his career. OLTL gets a brief mention, as does the failed recent L.A. Law revival pilot.

Debbi has also been invoked in a viral TikTok parody of a hilarious scene featuring her in said film, as the memes and spoofs regarding Divorce in the Black have set Perry off on another defensive PR blitz:

The original, almost as hilarious scene with poor Debbi is further down in the thread. I have to say the TikTok actress nailed it. But hey, Debbi stays busy!

That's hilarious. Thanks. She does get some of the Debbi mannerisms. Kudos to them for managing to film in a real grocery store.

DAYS Alum Jessica Serfaty Accuses Billionaire Fiancé of Abuse Then ‘Revokes’ Allegations: Article

This woman presents as messy.

Love how she posts about the 'abuse' and then asks for respect and privacy...

Days of Our Lives, of all the long running soaps, probably has the least amount of success stories, but when they do they don't [!@#$%^&*] around.

The highlighting of the continuity inconsistencies in Perry’s movies, as demonstrated in that clip had me screaming.

Of course he would go on a PR blitz, being as 'uppity' as he is accusing viewers of being.

Still...good for Debbi.

And good as well for Jensen. Who would have thought it? lol.
