Is that for a TV movie? How did I miss that announcement?

It's a movie called 'Southside with You', a romantic comedy/drama about Michelle and Barack Obama's first date back in 1989. The whole movie is supposed to take place over that one date, kind of like 'Before Sunrise'.

Rick Springfield made another appearance on tonight's True Detective. His character, a corrupt psychiatrist who does all kinds of unsavory 'favors' for wealthy patients, literally had the snot beat out of him by Colin Farrell's character, who is trying to solve the murder of one of Springfield's clients and a woman he was acquainted with who disappeared without a trace.

Saundra Santiago (Carmen Santos, Guiding Light; Carlotta Vega #2, One Life To Live) also appeared as the mother of Taylor Kitsch's character's pregnant fiancee.

Speaking of Rick Springfield, he will be in a film starring Meryl Streep and Mamie Gummer (Streep's daughter) called Ricki and the Flash.

Just a guess but I think he may be playing the boyfriend/fellow musician of Streep's character.

For some reason, I can't even imagine Meryl Streep and Rick Springfield paired up - even just on-screen!!!

Well, brace yourself Amy (lol):

There's a very embarrassing video of Melissa Archer and Jessica Morris out there

Most of their scenes on OLTL? What are we talking about here?

Not that he was ever really a soap star (although I did like him), but Jonathan Bennett (JR on AMC before Andrew Ridings, better known for Mean Girls) is the host of Cake Wars on the Food Network. I kept thinking he looked familiar, but he was doing a bad imitation of the Cupcake Wars host so I thought maybe that guy had just put on some weight.

Jonathan Groff and Renee Goldsberry are both starring in "Hamilton"on Broadway. It took me a while to remember that they were both on OLTL at the same time. Groff was supposed to play a school shooter but the story got pulled because of the Virginia Tech shooting.

Oh, I saw an article about this last week, I need to read it. I'm kind of curious to see it, and doubly so now. It is no secret that I never much liked Evangeline on OLTL after she dogged R.J., but I liked Renee. And looking back with the benefit of hindsight, it's sad to realize how unheard of airtime like hers - even when I hated her stories - would be today.

Also, Jonathan Groff looks great naked.

That magical time when a black woman was on enough to be hated and loved by the audience in equal measure. What a time to be alive.
