Did AMC, ATWT, GL or OLTL have the better SERIES FINALE?

OLTL without a doubt. I HATED the editing of that final few moments of AMC, and that weak ass gunshot. I DID love Tad's speech and the fact that all the characters were together at the party. That ATWT finale was horrible in my opinion, and that cheap ass spot lit globe spinning at the end was just horrible. (I did find ATWT's penultimate episode quite wonderful though, as I did OLTL's) I kind of looked at OLTL's Thursday episode as the finale as I had a feeling that this episode would be more like a standard episode. As a pair, the OLTL final two episodes are in a class by themselves.

I can't even remember ATWT's penultimate - was it Reid's death? Hated all that.

What got me most with OLTL's last episodes was that RC still seemed torn between his idea of a soap (the bad bad parodies referenced in Fraternity Row) and what Viki was saying. I really wish he had a co-writer, as he often dragged himself down, all the way to the end.

I only remember watching OLTL and AMC's final episode(s).

There was a lot of effort put into wrapping up AMC neatly but for me it oveall missed the mark. The family-centered episodes were a nice idea but the miss of the Kane episode remains glaring to me. While they hit some perfect emotional notes from time to time, overall I thought dedication episodes could have been done a lot better because of the fact they were dedication episodes. The last episode, from JR and the shooting to Erica suddenly very-16 again - the cliffhangers felt contrived and overall meh to me. "Who else does David have?" also fell flat to me. I didn't think any thread of that story went to the heart of "AMC." Maybe if the episodes stayed on the sentimental track instead of trying to contrive drama quick-shot at the end I would have felt differently.

OLTL stayed true to the kind of soap it's been in the last decade and more so in the last couple of years. When a show ends, I want to feel like the story still goes on somewhere off-screen. There were some bows here and there but overall I felt like this was just another fairly exciting day in Llanview. The conflict and cliffhangers felt fluid and true to the characters and show (the show as it has been in the 2000s). I appreciated there being no Gigi & Rex. I love that the OLTL PTB's and actors lie to the audience because that's the only way to suprise the audience these days (TSJ).

I wasn't in love with AMC at the end to be honest no matter the name of the HW.

I'm on team Jacob Young with the ending. I didn't like David's story of more or less being able to raise the dead followed by him raising almost all the dead. I would have been better if they did just 3 different stories if we had to have characters return from the dead: Zach comes back with amnesia, David saved Stuart because he was the reason he died (Stuart saves JR and David's character-driven redemption), Eric faked his death and walks back into Erica's life. It's a shame to me that type of story (David's "Days of Our Lives" arc) dominated so much of AMC's time during the last few months. I loved Tad and Dixie, but I wouldn't have brought her back. They killed Tad & Dixie a long time ago.

Contriving the entire town to the Chandlers for JR's shooting didn't tickle any bone in me either.

Then, yes, there was Erica's very-16 again sudden turn at the end there so Rhett Montgomery could give Scarlett Kane that line. Meh.

Best finale in how? Tying everything up? Who had the more familiar faces? I think they all had OK finales. I haven't seen the ATWT finale, unfortunately.

I enjoyed GL's because of all of the returns we got. I felt everything was tied up, but it still felt like life was continuing on.

I LOVED OLTL's ending today. In terms of closure, I felt we got some this week, but I felt the show was positioned well to continue. TBH, I'm shocked more people aren't upset that we got a lot of cliffhangers. Way more than just one single gunshot on AMC.

AMC's was good. I feel satisifed, even with the gunshot.

I'd rank it OLTL/AMC/GL

In order

OLTL - well because it's my favorite show!

GL - I thought the end was nice. Everything neatly tied up.

AMC - I actually liked it until the end. The gunshot....just why?

ATWT - It was just okay. Kind of boring. That show lost is heart many a moon before it ended.

Well, admittedly, I didn't watch AMC, and I've only watched OLTL for the past year and a half. I'd rank it:

1) ATWT

2) OLTL

3) GL

ATWT's ending wasn't perfect, but I think it gets a bad rap for not doing what everyone and their mother wanted by reaching out to everyone and anyone they could to make some kind of return. (Which isn't even completely true, since we did get returns from Will, Gwen, Maddie, Rosanna, the last Lucy, MBE's Sierra and John.) I thought it did have a lot of heart, and it wrapped up the stories well.

I know I'm gonna get shot for this, but that's exactly where OLTL lost me. I won't pretend that I had an emotional connection to the show, and I understand longtime fans do, but they didn't even really bother to set up the specifics of who all these people were who were suddenly traipsing in and out of Llanfair shooting and yelling at people. Or escorting and flirting with those on death's door.

GL's was horrible for obvious reasons. What they promised and what they delivered were two completely different things. I had Lillian and Buzz intruding on Billy and Van's wedding, and I got a flashforward that had little or nothing besides babies and a relationships pulled out of their asses.

AMC's finale and the days leading up to it were more family & character oriented for me and i appreciated that a lot. I feel like they could've been even more richer/stronger if the Project Orpheus nonsense had subsided sooner. IMO that all should've been wrapped and done with by the end of August. It crowded the show even in its last weeks and it was damaging I think. The only effects we should have felt from it in the last weeks/week should've been Stuart's surprise come back and maybe the "last patient". Besides that, I honestly thought it was great. About the Kane episode, I know a lot found it disappointing, I even did, but I was not that bothered by it & I still consider the episode a success. The worst thing about it was those fourth wall moments (the only good one was w/Ryan and Greenlee...lol). I liked the idea of them, but I think it would've been more fitting to have some simple scenes with the Kane women together, just talking about stuff. That's it. The finale episode, for me, was a bit rushed (I'm still convinced more went on during that party...) but I still thought it was phenomenal and a fitting way to end the show. The cliffhanger with JR was great. I really wish someone or something on GH could mention who got shot in PV back in September...LOL.

OLTL's finale week was up & down for me. Tuesdays & Wednesdays episodes were on the boring side, they could've been stronger...but as far as Thursday/Friday, near perfect. I thought the finale was great because it was so focused & to the point. It didn't feel rushed & there was a clear goal in mind. I truly thought the scenes after Destiny gave birth were brilliant & the Clint/Jessica/Natalie/Viki stuff was so good. And I loved that we got some last scenes w/the teens who gave us so many story lines over the past few years (Can I just say hallelujah and LOL at the show totally crapping on Starr/James. Starr never truly wanted his ass. LMAO!) And ofcourse that wonderful ending with TSJ/Victor. Just...perfect. The only thing I didn't like was most of the Tea/Tomas/John nothingness that was going on.

I have to say, despite the fact I thought OLTL's finale was more convergent, that i think AMC's was the best. Mainly because I feel/felt more attached to the show. I thought it had more to offer despite being on the choppy side. Tad's speech and all the surprises like Stuart being alive, Adam proposing to Brooke, Jack kicking Erica to the curb....and the cliffhanger with JR REALLY made want to tune in next Monday! I mean, OLTL's did too...but I feel like I have *somewhat* of an idea of what would happen next, but with AMC...I still have no clue. And I personally love (and hate) that.

Can't judge for GL or ATWT, I had little to no experience with both shows. Never saw clips of GL's, but I did see ATWT's and just found it...boring. And I think that's because I knew nothing about the show & had no attachment to it.

I thought AMC's finale was well written, I simply hated the editing/production. It is funny, I SO want to know what the heck is going to happen on Monday with you know who on the bed and HOW THE HELL did you know who get you know who! (Just in case someone has not seen the show )

It brought me back to being a kid and the excitement of Friday cliffhangers (before spoilers, ect)

It is hitting me now what a shame and waste it was to lose these shows. The Revolution looks likes a redundant bore (and frankly, I adore Tim Gunn who is CLASS and extremely gracious man.)

1. AMC. They brought back the right characters (Dixie, Stuart, Brooke & Adam) and gave closure to those of us who watched faithfully while leaving a cliffhanger for the proposed online version. I even thought Jack telling Erica off after all these years was perfect!

2. GL. Even though the ending was rushed and I hated how it skipped ahead a year, they at least tried to wrap things up by pairing people who should've been together all along.

3. ATWT. Loved seeing John & Lucinda get together in the end. I also appreciated how the Hughes & Stewart families still mattered.

4. OLTL. They focused too much on the younger characters like Starr, the Ford brothers and didn't bring back enough past characters in the last week. IMO, the least they should've done was brought Dorian back for one final fight with Viki. I couldn't care less about either Todd so the cliffhanger meant nothing to me aside from why Alison was writing the story and how long she's been doing that.
