Members Khan
Please, I beg you (and every other GH fan reading): do NOT get your hopes up. Yes, Frons is gone, but the damage he's done is irreversible. *shakes head*
Members dragonflies
It's not going to happen. OLTL is gone. GH soon to go. The network doesn't see the Chew as as failure even though it is

Members dragonflies
soapsindepthabc Soaps In Depth ABC It takes a LOT of nerve for Frons to say "I'm proud of the performance of ABC daytime” during his tenure, then give shout-outs to The Chew! Members DRW50
The Chew is seen as a success by the cheep cheep cheep standard. If it seems like a failure it's because Frons and those around him yet again bragged and oversold (hooting about how the show had beaten AMC, then watching as the show fell below AMC levels for months), and because so much money and promotion was spent on it. As for Frons, a lot of people speculated about this earlier in the year. I'm glad that he got to make some more idiotic comments (saying soap viewers are stupid and fat, essentially) before he went. If this new person came up with The Revolution, an incredibly terrible idea for a show even after a year in planning, then ABC is becoming even more irrelevant. Members marceline
Too little, too late. Frons destroyed the shows. ruined careers and irreparably harmed the genre and now he gets to walk away with, what I guarantee you is, one hell of a golden parachute. No it isn't. Members baller
I wouldn't be so quick to call The Chew a failure-its matching AMC numbers for Nov. Can not help but think this is the nail in the coffin for GH.
Members DRW50
Hopefully ABC waited long enough to where they wouldn't have to pay him too much. They probably wanted him gone last year but held on for a reason. Disney destroyed the ABC Daytime brand in the mid-90s but Frons is the one who truly gutted it beyond any hope of repair. From the first interview he did, he proved how incompetent and offensive he was. I just hate the half-assed attempts to make these shows sound like anything but what they are. Members Khan
Financially, "The Chew" isn't a failure. Otherwise, though, it makes "Pink Lady and Jeff" look like "The Jack Benny Program."
Members DRW50
With the amount of money and promo spent on this show, it should have been rating better than AMC from the start.
Members dragonflies
Given the demos, it actually is, isn't that what Errol's article's were all about When it sustains those for more than 6 months, let me know and I'll reconsider calling it a failure

Members skiman12082004
To me what is happening to ABC Daytime is what happened to NBC Daytime a few years ago when they consolidated divisions. Everyone thought DAYS was a goner and it has been renewed twice since that consolidation. I'm not saying that GH will have the same kind of fortune but at least it is something to be considered and not just wishful thinking.
Members Jonathan
I saw this coming. He was brought in a decade ago because of his soap background. Now there will be only 1 soap, so it makes sense to let him go. Justice is served. I'm sure La Lucci is happy.
