Don't get me wrong - SHARON should be the one who makes the decision to stay away from Adam. The way the writers have twisted her up it's ridiculous - I consider the lowest point - marrying Aunt Jack (just gross). My point was that Nick doesn't need to hold Faith over Sharon's head - this should just be a basic instinct for a woman who had her child ripped from her. However, being a soap, IF they are bent on Shadam, then I'd rather have Sharon struggle with her own conscious/desires (we all can relate to being attracted to someone who is not so good for us), rather than an ultimatum from an ex-HUSBAND who abandoned her for another woman after her daughter died.

Oh, and how about Victor calling Adam a SOB. Hello? Is he really calling Hope a b*tch? Once again, the writers are just not thinking. it may be an expression, but Victor would NEVER degrade Hope's memory would such a callous comment. You would think that Victor would be doing everything in his power to help Adam - by encouraging him - since of all his children - Victor Jr. is not only he closest clone, but achieved something he didn't have the opportunity to do: get educated + Wall Street. (His other two older kids rejected all the opportunities because they were too busy being impulsive and immature. - And, I think we can definitely agree that's STILL the case with Nick and AH's Victoria.)

Glad I got that off my chest. LOL

Finally caught up and saw the Nikki episode...BEAUTIFUL. I loved it.

I wish they'd bring Casey back though, really. I feel like there was some reason though why the original actress never returns...but who would you like to see play Casey if they brought her back?

My first thought was Catherine Hickland - but she is too young, and I don't know if she could convincingly play MTS' OLDER sister. What about Ilene Kristen? Any other suggestions?

Ilene Kristen would be interesting and it would be a nice change of pace for her. But the actress who plays Casey has returned several times over the years. I have the episodes where she returned in 1998 on DVD. I bet it's more a case of them not asking. Starting with Latham it seems like Y&R doesn't LIKE bringing older actors back. When stunt casting is your goal, it's better to recast.

And that there in lies in the problem; you have to have good writing and brains to tell a story. Yes Adam should have been a complicated antagonist f or his family as he really is the one most like Victor but being Hope's son he should always have redeeming qualities. Instead MAB/Sheffer/Hamner, the idiots they are thought it would be neat if Adam became a dark twisted super villain. Well that blew up in their faces and Michael Muhney ended up coming back to the show. Since then Adam's been in a corner, not salvageable at all. They've tried writing him as an anti-hero but its been a colossal failure.

As for Sharon, well I think Sharon should have been written off with Sam last month. No offense to actress Sharon Case, but the character is done and we shouldn't even have to watch Shadam version 3.0. The show had the perfect opportunity to cut some losses since they let Sean Patrick Flannery go, they could have easily written Sharon off into the sunset with Sam. I would have been perfectly fine with that. As for Sharon Case, I could easily see Brad Bell casting her as some long lost Logan cousin or as Kristen Forrester.

I know she's returned several times, but for some reason I thought after the last time, I thought she had a falling out with MTS that prevented her from coming back. Maybe I made that up....

I think Ilene would be good in the role. You should but the 1998 episodes on YouTube. I'd LOVE to see them again.

    • Right. Literally for decades, soaps mesmerized their audiences with tales of romance, family conflict, class struggles, and recognizable interpersonal-relationship sagas. We didn't need relentless, heavy violence. We didn't need clones, mad scientists, extra-terrestrials and demon possessions. We didn't need gaggles of plastic himbos and bimbos pushing beloved vets off-screen. We only needed to see people whom we cared about, and the intelligent, moving progression of their lives. Flashy sets, gaudy gimmicks, and high-falutin' hairdos be damned. The characters and the words were important.
    • Absolutely! Brad should've simply moved on from Lunacy. There's no point of freeing her, if you're not going to at least make an attempt at redemption or incorporating her into the fold. It happened with Quinn, who committed quite a few felonies before become the Forrester Matriarch.  Heck, keep Lunacy in prison and have Poppy/Finn discover that she gave birth to twins - 'Sunny' could've come on with a clean slate and still had Sheila/Finn and all the other drama. It certainly couldn't have been worse than what we've witnessed with the destruction of $B.
    • I would enjoy it if Swan popped up on BTG as an old one time friend/mentor of Anita’s for a cameo. This is just

    • I had totally forgotten that Courtney story. I see Burton was already phoning it in by that point.
    • omg I completely missed that, but now when I see it typed here in your post, it's obvious icky cringe. So now I just checked and Tomas said that -- on May 27 that he likes the author Carl Ivati.  He said it with sort of an accent, so I didn't catch the stupid joke or think about the spelling.   I remember when that aired, that I actually said to myself at the time, "I wonder if that's a Latin American author, and I will have to google him later." And now I see your post, and I see. Well that's cringe, and I feel stupid to have fallen for it.

    • There's a lot you don't need if you have the writing.  You don't even need large casts!  You could make do with a cast of 12-18 actors if the writing is there.
    • Thank you. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with sleeping around if your spouse actually knows about it. She’s just a cheating slut.
    • OMG...Robert Mandan! And Donna Mills is a child. I keep hoping for more of early Ross/Vanessa.
    • I get your point, but I also know that if the roles were reversed -- if a man were screwing around on a woman this way -- everyone would be all "All with his head!" When I say Vanessa needs therapy, I'm actually being kind, because I could begin and end with the fact that she's a cheating slut.
