I should have known the people here would be hard on Days. It doesn't happen over night. They need time. Yes Days had a bad week, but it's only one. Let's wait to see how these stories play out and the numbers as well. People are so quick to label the changes a flop. I for one LOVE DAYS and make it a point to see it every day.

Thanks Toups. Well said. This team needs more time. We all know it takes months to years for stories to play out. That's why we watch soaps right? If you want instant gratification I suggest twitter or face book. That's the problem many want instant gratification and forget what the soap formula is. It takes time to tell stories.

Exactly. Just look at the recent big return - Roger Howarth returning to OLTL. When he showed up on screen, ratings didn't immediately go up. It wasn't until he had scenes with his family that the ratings started to go up. It takes months and time to build up a story. That's why I'm not jumping off the deep end right now.

Good for oltl going back up it has to be building from it's chew lead in by 600000 to 800000. Teameric oltl had some good months in 2011 Aka February, April and august and still viewers sled but it was highest viewing month. Find it interesting oltl Is building. Days IMO I knew would bomb it doesn't have a hot story ala oltl had with two todds. Oltl had a building explosive story. Days had some returns but nothing exciting

Also interesting to me Monday was the holiday well Columbus day isn't really huge holiday that OLTL higher rated viewing days were non Holiday days and Friday their highest day. OLTL IMO this is good news especially with such a pittiful lead-in and I honestly can't wait to see what they do PP wise with the show.

Outside of the snow storm weeks, the only time I see fluctuating that much last year was in July. GH had much wilder swings last year.

Actually OLTL lost some viewers the first 2 months of RH's return. It wasn't until the Howarth vs St. John confrontations started that viewership started its spike. The who is the real Todd Manning promos created a lot of buzz everywhere and were a great hook to lure viewers to watch.

B&B is really doing well, and deserves its success.

I don't believe the 1.7 is a dangerous number for DOOL, since the threshhold for what is "acceptable" is much lower at NBC than it is at ABC or CBS. If the soap was on another network, it would have already been cancelled.

September was also a good month with 2.7 million viewers. But OLTL been trending downward from those August big highs, and their demos have suffered. OLTL hasn't broken 700,000 again in the 18-49 demos nor owned first place in 18-34 again.

Anyhoo, glad I was right OLTL managed a nice gain despite the poor lead-in from The Chew. That proves we can't blame all the lead-in for drops.

In the loving arms of his wife, Dr. Marlena Evans, John took his last breath at the end of the June 2 episode, after suffering devastating internal injuries during a lab explosion. The iconic character went out as he lived — a hero. Sensing the fans’ devastation on Monday, Marlena’s portrayer Deidre Hall posted this simple-but-powerful message to fans on Instagram: “I know. I know. Hardest day ever.”

    • Now coming into June...well...   I knew it was coming but I didn't like the start to the next round of Dani/Bill/Hayley. As the 3 A plots from the start of the show (The SilkPress storyline and Martin's Secret being the other two), it needed to be benched for a while to develop those characters and allow other characters and storylines to grow. 3 months in, Hayley is the weak link, Dani is still divisive, but not boring, and Bill has been making his mark with some plots faster than others. So last week seeing the story starting to loop back around to them with Hayley's potential pregnancy, I honestly had mixed feelings.   I get it. The SilkPress storyline is currently in aftermath/next turn mode, so it has to be moved into a C plot position. Moreso if we want to keep the very talented Miss Trish around. And I love how clever the writers are being with the storyline. They give us enough in the episodes and are still playing out beats to keep the appetite fed. I don't feel like anyone is being dumbed down to keep her around. And Trish is giving nuances in her alone scenes with NuTed. I shouldn't care for a clear psycho, but she be selling it. That said...I wish they had given us a little more of the Martin's Secret storyline in the last week of the month though I loved the game of cat and mouse Bill did on Martin and Smitty to keep the storyline alive and active after it had a nice build beginning of May and vanished for a week mid-May. And it appears like it's about to go back to the backburner as an A plot which of course leaves the A plot of Dani/Bill/Hayley.   I am probably in the minority as someone who is not anti-Dani here and even she annoyed the heck out of me last week. In character true, but I just felt like there was a way to get all of that across without it feeling like...as I've said before...one step forward, two steps back...and have it feel organic. I liked Hayley got a little bit of edge with her, but she still ain't no match for Dani. And it reminds to be seen if we should be going back to that well of a story yet.   Now about today's show...   And I thought Tracy was bad! lol. But YES. Sharon has been worth the wait. And so has Anita's story! Finally having TT in the limelight. This has been a nice slow burn for me and a nice B plot. And the actress is good. The wig is giving. And her holding what Anita's secret is over her head and threatening to tell Vernon....Ooooo...that is what I was waiting for.    And speaking of bad...I thought Eva vs Kat was a great rivalry. But I am loving the rivalry that is growing with 'Nancy Drew' and Silk Press Sheila! They both get good licks in and are so cunning with each other. And I definitely have liked that since the anniversary party, that it has been growing. Now that Kat has been proven right, she has not backed down. And neither has SilkPress. And we got a 'Ms. B@tch' moment, too? LOVE. Eva coming up with a trump card was delicious and so 90s Sami Brady. GOOD. And the coda with Jacob and the expert...YES. The Silk Press storyline has been the best paced on the show so I love that the aftermath of the anniversary party continues to be so...barring one flaw...well for me. Not enough Nicole's POV.   And I like the C plots on display. And by that, I mean Chelsea with Vernon. And it made me wonder what the writers have plan for her love life now that the throuple is over with. I was watching her and going awww.   And of course the mystery man around Martin. I am starting to wonder if he really even works at the country club given how he made a run for it. That would be a twist.    Speaking of Martin...good to see him in scenes with his father and mother.    I'm getting used to NuTed.    I felt the last episode of May was a bit of a letdown, but this was a very nice recovery.
    • Unless they cut him, I'd think he would stay. Surely, he didn't choose to return because he expected high quality. I figure he gets to work when he wants and spend a lot of time doing his own thing and being with his family.
    • The writing for Liz and Lucky is indeed terrible, but if JJ signed a one-year contract he may be gone in a couple of months anyway. Perhaps they’re just cutting their losses.
    • That would be his older sister Stacey. She was the center of a big story back in the day. Nola was out to snag medical student Kelly Nelson, who she thought would provide her with the life she craved. He was in love with a girl named Morgan. Nola plotted to get pregnant by him, but couldn't manage to get him in bed. So she seduced Floyd, who thought she was in love with him. When she knew she was pregnant, she got Kelly drunk and made sure he woke up next to her in bed. Kelly believed her when she told him he made her pregnant. They were about to elope to Las Vegas, but her mother ratted her out and Kelly abandoned her. She almost married Floyd, but jilted him at the altar. She went to work for Quint. When the baby came prematurely, Kelly saved both of them. She named the baby Kelly Louise to irk Morgan, who was now married to Kelly. When she fell in love with Quint, she had a change of heart over all the trouble she had caused, so she changed the baby's name to Anastasia Louise, shortened to Stacey. Quint was a devoted stepfather and Henry treated her like his own granddaughter.  After Quint and Nola leave SF, I believe Stacey is never seen again. Which is odd, you would think they would have brought her back with Nola and J, but they never did.
