The Revolution: Discussion Thread

If they really feel the need to, ABC will most likely replace it with a similar cheap reality program they've got waiting in the wings. But wouldn't it be loverly if that 2pm slot became a catch all space for cheap thirty min. novellas? #dreaming

‘The Revolution’ unfortunately will be televised

‘THE REVOLUTION’ ★1/2

1 to 2 p.m. weekdays on WLS-Channel 7

Updated: January 17, 2012 2:12AM

Don’t let the name fool you: There’s nothing revolutionary about “The Revolution.”

ABC’s new daytime talker, filling the time slot of the canceled “One Live to Live,” promises its team of lifestyle experts will help both viewers and its televised “heroes” of the week transform their bodies, minds, style, health and environment.

What it actually delivers — besides one long Macy’s commercial — is a bunch of platitudes, lame tips (“embrace color”), television’s millionth makeover and advice from the no-duh handbook.

On Monday’s debut, style guru Tim Gunn (“Project Runway”) gave one woman a “Timtervention” by swapping her mom jeans for a miniskirt. He then shared one of the fashion world’s biggest secrets: High heels make legs look longer. Thanks, Officer Obvious. Maybe on Tuesday we’ll learn that hats are worn on the head.

The show also focuses on one or two women — sorry, “heroes” — as their lives are changed during a five-month transformation that gets condensed to five days. Each week, the players will change. But you can bet the plot will stay the same, starting with tears and ending in a smaller dress size.

Yes I think GH will make it through at least this year, in the saame article it says that GH has immediate growth out of the Revolution and pulled a 1.8 and they hope ABC won't make the same mistake with GH that they made with AMC/OLTL. Dumbasses.

The Revolution is so low right now that the growth out of the timeslot may not mean a lot to them.

I think they want out of scripted programming and they will get out of it no matter what, even if they only have a stray dog watching their shows through a store window.

Um 2:00... lol

ABC has a 200+ episode committment to The Revolution so it will be awhile before it goes off the air.
