Abe better watch himself bc Lexie has a long line of affairs that can be dragged out and exposed to smear his campaign. Lets not forget her baby stealing past

So many oppurtunities to mention Peter and nothing....

Who is Jack's father and why are they alluding that he was some SOB?

He was slightly better on ATWT, but he was an utter mess on OLTL. I can't deal with Austin Peck.

To be fair his character is an utter mess on OLTL with no direction or decent writing. I dont think the best actor could have saved Rick bc the character is just pointless

If any Republicans watch DOOL they may want EJ to get in the race. He is better at debates than Rick Perry.

Jack's father was Harper Deveraux, aka the Riverfront Knifer. Soapcentral has a great bio of him.

http://soapcentral.c...swho/harper.php

Harper Deveraux was a rich and powerful Senator who came to Salem with his wife Anjelica in 1987. Harper soon became involved in the mysterious computer disk that Victor Kiriakis and Serena Colville were after. When the disk ended up in his possession he was almost killed by an explosion set up in Mike's lab where the disk was stashed. Harper enlisted the help of Steve Johnson to fake his death, but the blanks in Steve's rifle were replaced with real bullets, and Harper fell into a coma after being shot by Steve.

Harper recovered and hired Kayla Brady to be his son's nurse. Jack had come to town and was sick with Hodgkin's disease. When he and Kayla married Kayla moved into the Deveraux mansion. Meanwhile Harper learned that Jack's true family was looking for him, so to keep his identity a secret he stole the adoption papers from Jo Johnson. When the papers turned up missing he thought Kayla had them so he tried to kill her with poison. Later Melissa Anderson was arrested and charged with the attempted murder.

When Harper's wife Anjelica became pregnant Harper ordered her to have an abortion. Angelica refused, not knowing that Harper was hiding a secret from her. When Jack learned he was adopted Anjelica learned that Harper was sterile, so the father of her unborn baby was Justin Kiriakis.

Harper, who was angry at the women in his life for betraying him, began attacking the women of Salem. He attacked Eve Donovan, who survived but war scarred by a knife slash across her cheek. Harper then attacked, and killed Janice Barnes. His next victim was Kayla Brady, who survived the attack but went deaf and mute as a result. Harper then attacked Kimberly, who was working undercover as a prostitute. Kimberly survived, but lost the child she was carrying.

When Kayla recalled the identity of her attacker she rushed to tell her sister Kimberly. Unfortunately Harper took them both hostage and planned to finish the jobs he started on them Harper was eventually stopped by Steve Johnson. Harper was sent to prison, but vowed to get revenge on Steve.

Later that year Victor Kiriakis, with the help of Jack Deveraux, arranged a jail break so that Harper could leave the country. The plan didn't go off as planned, Harper was shot while trying to get to the airport. Jack took him to the Riverfront Clinic where he took Kayla hostage again. Steve rescued Kayla, and Harper was sent back to prison once again.

Harper later escaped from prison in 1990, and tried to stop Kayla and Steve's wedding. He fell from his death while fighting with Jack on the bell tower.

I will take Patrick's flaws over Austin P's flaws anyday. Peck can only play the down-to-earth goofball or the funny/sleezy guy because it's basically a version of himself. So "acting" is not a stretch for him. He's not able to do dramatic scenes or show anger or sadness or show different emotions with his voice and eyes. Peck does use his eyes, but his usually rolling them or darting them sideways, and like Shawn mentioned above, Peck sometimes acts like he's forgetting his lines. With Muldoon, he's more believeable as the businessman or forensic accountant - he's believeable as smart person. With Peck, all you see is DUMB.

The problem is we haven't seen Patrick Muldoon do dramatic scenes, show anger or sadness or different emotions with his voice or eyes...if he even can anymore.

What we have seen is Muldoon scrunch up with eyebrows, toss his 90s bangs, demonstrate the terrors of sun damage and squeak out lines with his cringe worthy nails on a chalkboard drag queen voice.

Finally, Austin as a forensic account is the dumbest element of this character, we're not going to have a "Forensic Accountant" storyline...we're going to have Austin and Carrie break up and get back together. Austin being "smart" or "intelligent" isn't necessary to the character at all, it never has been.

Peck is not an amazing actor, but he is charming and very easy to watch, something I cannot say for Muldoon.

Sorry, but when I see AP act, this is what I see:

I'll take PM any day of the week, raspy voice and weird hair aside.

But that's the problem, you cannot get rid of either of those things because they are intrinsically Muldoon. He is a disaster!

Peck is good at comedy scenes, which don't seem to have been Austin Reed's purpose over the years. When he tries to do dramatic work, it ends up being what he did on ATWT - I'M YELLING MY LINES BECAUSE I AM ACTING!!

I'd just write Austin out and bring Billie back.

I know none of this could come to pass at all, since it's so obvious the show is going the "Stefano vs. Jarlena Episode 8129421804" route, but who else could conceivably be setting John up for this and why? I had a good long think about this and Brady crossed my mind, with John's downfall just being a byproduct of Brady's recklessness, or possibly an attempt to "save John", Iris Cory style, but that seems a bit extreme for him, even if it is more interesting than the culprit being Stefano.

So anyone else have any bright ideas?

Muldoon is ok but I honestly don't see how Austin Peck is a downgrade. Austin never was a very interesting or complex character when either Muldoon or Peck played him.Personally I identify Peck more with Austin. He played him a lot longer, BUt this is not about bringing great actors to Days its about recreating super couples from the 80s and 90s.

Back in the early 90s, these were my favorite couples biggrin.png

Love the Madison vs Kate rivalry but its so lopsided. On Team Madison you have Madison, Sami, Victor, and Brady and on Team Kate, you have her out there by herself. They really should start adding some people to Countess Wilhemena. Maybe Billie or Chelsea?

100% agreed. It's to unbalanced and I'm actually surprised there hasn't been a "Team Kate" team established yet. Will they even bother? I really hope so. Billie and Chelsea are GREAT suggestions, Julie Pinson and Rachel Melvin need to come home to Salem ;-)

BTW Cheap that is a fab banner! Love it!

Carrie would have been a great addition to Team Kate however she's a lawyer now. Nicole would be an interesting ally for Kate. They have a nasty history but they worked well when teaming up to bring down Sami before.

Part of me is hoping that it's the work of Kristen, but that would never happen.

I felt the same about Carrie and I thought about Nicole, especially since she's now a PR person. EJ and Kate seem to be getting along well now so perhaps EJ could sned Nicole her way and offer to pay her a generous salary with Kate giving her a top position.

Thanks! Oh and I definetly think Kate needs any combination of her granddaughter and daughters (that includes Cassie too!)
