Oh I don't know....I was just wondering how old they were/are supposed to be.

It sounds about right. He has to be in his 40s.

To go from that episode of AMC to these boys frollicking in the steam room, rolling myself another migraine. rolleyes.gif

HA I had the exact same reaction. Talk about a jolt (and not in a pleasant way...)

Tea and Dani were by far the best part of today. I really love their interaction and chemistry as mother and daughter

The Ford scenes were awful. What a waste of time

It fits doesn't it, the ages? Todd was what in his early 20's when he raped Marty wasn't he, and that was what 1992?

yeah it fits in for him, but not so much his kids. LOL....he was not 22 when Starr was born and 24 when Dani was, but thats what happens with SORASing

UGH the Fords today they might as well do a orgy in the sauna

At thispoint I don't think that would even be more interesting as a porn--awful.

It's interesting how the show is having a creative dead period in between Victor's exit and

Tina and Cord's returns.

It's just awkward and tedious.

Not to sound like a broken record of complaints, but this has always been the way I've found RC's show--at least the past few years. He has these big climax moments where everything is drama, and then suddenly you're kinda left with these pointless seeming stories starting up, and B stories...

Todd raped Marty in 1993. Todd officially turned 25 in January of 1995, making him elligible for the Lord Heir trust fund.

Original story had Irene pregnant with Todd (and now his twin) the same year Viki was pregnant with Kevin. I believe that was approx 2 years before Victor Lord Sr died (the first time) as Kevin was just a toddler.

SORASing has mucked up this mess as they keep harping on the 1993 rape trial yet Starr is supposed to turn 21 this January... hello, writers, STOP USING dates.

Exactly.

RC builds to these great climaxes like the double wedding then fails miserably at the exploring the emotional fall out. He also isolates the characters far too much. Viki/Todd/Irene should be getting intense scenes and instead there's been no follow through at all.

Worse, RC does these big reveals and doesn't let the characters learn about them ONSCREEN. B&N learned Dani was really Todd's kid OFFSCREEN and now they learn RH's Todd is back OFFSCREEN. Using the Sun headlines to spread the word is a very lazy plot device RC keeps over-using.

I definitely agree with the problem of diversity.

The lack of diversity is worse than ever before. Their only real minority character is Tea and she was shafted as 2nd best in favor of a white blonde. Cris did get a blink and you miss it HEA with... of course, another white blonde while AA Layla gets stuck with the cheating slut exit. Unlike Starr & Cole's epic love story, Destiny's first time is degradingly about making the white boy feel better.

Shaun & Vivian's whole relationship occurs entirely offscreen. That's a shame as Shaun and Vivian are tons more entertaining than white blonde Aubrey with Cutter.

There is such a casualness in the open racism at OLTL that makes me question if the writers even recognize the ugly messages they are sending...

And yes, your sledgehammer comment makes perfect sense. It's true that to SOME degree that is a traditional aspect of soap (and Reilly certainly IMHO overused it as well, which is why I found his shows--well one reason--so frustrating to watch), but if you're pulling out the story and reveal you have add new elements, have character growth, etc--not just repeat the same, or similar, "almost reveals" every few days for a few months..

It's an old-style of soap writing where the writers let the audience in on the big secret and then the audience gets to laugh or scream at the stupid characters missing all the clues. The characters are dumbed down to a point of ridiculousness in order to drag out the audience feeling superior.

RC winks winks to the audience all the time, with little inside jokes or literally rolling his eyes onscreen as how BLIND these characters are to miss HIS NEON clues... RC loves to pat himself on the back when the audience GUESSES the murderer or secret LONG before the characters do
