I did like the closing theme for the Satin sheets opening of OLTL. That's about all I liked about it.

I don't even remember SuBe's opening.

**** is generous to ATWT's opening. While I can see a lot of care went into it, I always thought that opening was very depressing, which unfortunately matched my mood for most of the years it ran on ATWT. I guess it was better than the toilet flushing one after it.

ATWT always had bad openings aside from the final two. The music was finally good and I liked the simple retro still shot.

Or the island-flavored one. I adore Michael Laibson as an EP, but I've no idea why that had to happen.

Is that on Youtube?

I was never a huge fan of the white opening for AMC but I would definitely have rated it higher than that--I think it was a good opening, I just always prefered the other 90s (and now current) theme, music wise.

My favourite music from the white theme era was the first, used only during the 25th anniversary week in which it debuted. How it started out slow for the first few notes, and then morphed into a rather stripped down more mid tempo version of the one that would be used after. I just always thought the white opening visually looked cheap.

This is my favorite soap opening ever.

Other than the Days opening for its longevity, this is my fave also.

I agree with all of that.

I'm not sure if you found it yet, but here it is.

I always found the beginning of that opening sequence jarring with the sound effects of the beacon.

Again, another so-so opening theme, that has a good closing theme IMO.

I actually don't mind that opening, but mainly because I love any version of that melody (that one's not my fave by any means...) In fact both it and the 80s theme, in any of its variations, are neck and neck as fave soap theme songs for me, music wise.

Yeah, that's the slow, smooth jazz version of Hold on to Love I was talking about. I guess some people call it the Island version? Because of the time I got home from school, I actually thought they'd only changed the closing theme and it was about a week or two before I caught the opening. SOD dissed it and said they were glad the show brought back an uptempo version, but the new uptempo version sounded like pure cheese with that rock guitar and those weird video game frenzied trickling water sounds.

It's like THE EDGE OF NIGHT: something that would work as well today as it did back then.

Not I. The "island version" I'm talking about - which played maybe 5 times and is probably unavailable on YouTube - used Rastafarian (sp?) drums in the background.

LOL, you mean this one I was also talking about?:

(Lookit Susie and Helmie dancin to it.)
