Newer people don't always realize it. You don't have to look at more than one or two episodes from Kristina's return In '92 to realize how quickly she injected real spark and energy into the show, Frisco or no Frisco, and how she along with JL/Ryan and her easy, fun chemistry with JJY as Mac saved their bacon. That was certainly still there when I started watching when Luke and Laura returned. Mac and Felicia (with Robin) were part of the firmament, witty, sexy, fun.

In that period of time up to Labine arriving Felicia was a real utility player. She had the entire Ryan saga, then Kevin’s arrival, forming a relationship with Mac, running the Outback, she was Robin’s surrogate big sister, as a PI she worked cases including looking for Jagger’s siblings, and crossed over with the Brownstone folks and Sean and Tiffany’s stories. One of my favorite little bits she had going on was challenging a lot of sexism from the men, including Mac and Marco Dane over boxing and his gym.

You could even argue that Maxie/BJ begins as a Felicia centered story, and then once the accident happens it transfers over to Bobbie and Tony. Soaps used to be so good at this, the intersection of a major story and how it spun out for other characters. Like Todd and Marty on OLTL eventually becomes a story about the Lord family. Natalie/Janet and the well becomes a story to introduce Wildwind and Dimitri.

Some thoughts on the episode: I'm glad they mostly kept Holly a mystery without trying to tell us she was a mystery. They trusted us to be patient. Emma Samms has such presence. I have to remind m

Was there ever a moment when D.L. Brock wasn't an absolute piece of crap?

In the very beginning in 83 when he met Bobbie he was charming. But still deep down ruthless. He conned Luke into running for Mayor. And then when Luke became Mayor he didn't trust Brock to put him on his team. This is what eventually turned the tide for Brock and he became more and more out of control there after. David Groh was excellent in his final weeks on GH. One of the most vile characters ever seen on GH. Cam Faulkner abused Lesley in 1976. And then Phil Brewer also was a wife abuser. But Brock put them all the shame. His final moments on the show were shocking as well as nail biting suspensful. This was GH at it's best

Still after all these years one of the most suspenseful and nail biting GH segments of all time. Production values top notch expansive sets and crane camera shots you will never see today on the show. It makes it appear your watching a movie rather than a normal soap. Gloria Monty's vision of GH will forever be my go to for entertainment.

Really random... but I'm traveling on vacation for the next couple weeks and I'm at an Airbnb with Roku. They have a 24/7 General Hospital channel! Did y'all know this, or am I just late? I've never used Roku before.

They're currently showing S60 E75 - not sure what year that is, but I'm seeing Sonny and Nina together at a party. Austin and Britt are talking. Finn and some lady with a deep voice. Elizabeth is taking care of a pregnant Esme, but seems like Esme is a villain maybe? Spencer and Trina are at this party too and dating. Scotty is here, wearing sunglasses inside haha. Laura is talking to a younger guy, but not sure who he is - maybe Cyrus' nephew. Laura just said his son got out of prison recently - this guy doesn't seem old enough to have an adult son in prison!

Oh, now Brad just brought a drag queen out to the party and they brought Britt out to dance!

How cool! If I had all the time in the world, I'd watch and catch up.

ETA: I just googled it, this is from December 2022! And that guy is Nikolas - wow!

We must be getting close to Andy's death -- Tom and Simone will marry at the end of February 1988.

That 24 hour ROKU GH channel is only running episodes from 2018 to 2021 and they just keep running them over and over ad nausium.

Helena needs to take Brock's body down to the freezer deep below GH and freeze him with Stavros and then ressurect Brock in current GH time so Brock can find out that GH is now a more darker and violent place for him to enjoy!! LOL
