1987 continues and the Bobbie prostitute story mercifully concludes. Ann Marcus and Wes Kenny thought this would be a November sweeps winner! But it was so bad it was hard to stop watching

Thanks! I had no idea this was Ann Marcus. That's the @Khan signal!

Does this mean the whole weird period where Bobbie had a gaggle of adopted kids who then vanished was Marcus?

To do what, lol?

I can't get over JZ's wig. (That IS a wig, right, lol?). It's the kind of cheap-looking mess that deserves its' own social media account.

I just know you have a keen knowledge or interest in her. Or so I thought!

Fist episode where Kevin Bernhardt replaces Jack Wagner as faux Frisco for almost 3 weeks. There were two stories circulating at the time noting Jack's absense. One was he hurt his back in a golf injury. The second was his contract was up for renewal, (it was) and the contract negotiations to get him to resign were not going well. Either way this was a very bizarre 3 weeks seeing Kevin stepping in when he would later return as another character.

Ah, okay, lol!

Well, I wouldn't say I have a keen KNOWLEDGE of Ann Marcus' work - at least, not beyond FC, KL and MH2 - but I'll always be interested in seeing anything from her time on SFT, DAYS and especially LIAMST (which, along with WTHI, will remain my soap holy grail, lol).

But I'll say this much: what I've seen of her work on GH - thanks to @MrEdge80s and others on YT - feels a little too tryhard for me, like she's trying to emulate Pat Falken Smith or Anne Howard Bailey, except that kind of storytelling just isn't in her wheelhouse.

I remember reading somewhere about Monty not only having Bernhardt temp, but going to the press and saying how amazing he was, and how hiring him for a long-term part was supposedly meant as another sign to the cast to not get above their station.

I can't see anyone but Wagner as Frisco, and I imagine viewers agreed.

It would have been very unusual for her by then too. After Robin was cast as Heather (and even that was supposed to be short term to wrap that story up, but everybody loved her as Heather so she stayed) Monty stopped doing permanent recasts of anyone major for the rest of her original run. I do believe she would threaten Jack Wagner with this though, I just wonder if she would have stuck to it.

The only other recast I can recall Gloria doing other than replacing Chris Robinson from departing Michael Gregory as Rick. Is she cast Wally Kurth as Ned Ashton in 1991 from the original Kurt McKinney who left. And of course Gloria hired Steve Burton to replace the numerous actors that played Jason in the 80s. i am sure there might be one or two more minor ones I am forgetting.

Gloria didn't recast . She was lucky to have a core of players who stayed on and provided the stability. Otherwise she relied on actors returning eg Kin and Jackie Z and creating new couples who stepped in and went front burner eg Celia/Grant/Jimmy Lee. Frisco/Felicia/Duke/Anna etc

It was a strategy that worked because she didn't really have to bother about what to do once the couples finally overcome the obstacles and were wed. The actors either left, or were dropped and she had a new couple waiting in the wings to play the romance/adventure all over again.
