I have no idea how behind the scenes antics go, but the optics to me have always been GF is expendable to TPTB.   I don't think she's going to be written out at this point, but I never thought the show has valued her as much as it should.

But this show has been off the rails for years.  I am like a charter member of the Sonny Corinthos fan club (it's lessened over time, but the feeling is still there).  He should not be a lead.  The show is about a hospital not mobsters.  I have no idea how we got to this place lol.

TPTB have seemed to honor and cherish certain male actors over their female counterparts for a long time now. I seriously doubt they ever would have dropped John Beradino from his contract, yhet they had no qualms about releasing Emily McLaughlin and Rachel Ames.

The show bent over backwards to pamper and appease Tony Geary, but never showed Genie Francis the same respect.

And as for your comment that Sonny should not be a lead...YES! A thousand times, THIS. I just fell in love with you, LOL. The show should indeed be about the personnel of the hospital. How it got to center around a greasy, Teflon mobster who never pays for his heinous sins, I will never know.

Sonny/Brenda/Jax?  Awesome.  Great story.   Sonny can lead his own B stories, but if I was in charge Sonny would have been gone in 1997.   It was the perfect end to his story.  The mob robbed him of the life he wanted the most.  It was fitting.  But here we are.

The Sonny Saga could have tolerable if it had remained a B story, and ended at its appropriate time, 25 years ago. But the show has just harped on my and retread over the same ground ad nauseum. Enough already, geez!

It's like The Reva Saga on TGL: neverending and increasingly ridiculous and annoying. Reva the Ghost. Reva the Amish Amnesiac. Reva the San Cristobelian Queen. Reva the Clone. Reva the Time Traveller. EGADS, make it stop!

THIS.

Though I will always have a place in my heart for Kevin/Lucy. And I definitely loved around Christmas when Lucy was definitely pressed when Laura returned because it seemed more about the fact Lucy have Kevin to herself

than Laura interrupting the Christmas event.

Same.

Even as Brenda's #1 Fan the story got tiresome.  It's one thing to be young and be confused about Sonny/Jax-it's another to purposely play them off eachother at 40.  And at some point Brenda was doing that full well knowing they would fight over her.

Anyhow, Sonny never really evolved.  It's always been the same seduction routine.  I understand there is some trouble living up to iconic storylines/pairings that happened right off the bat, but ugh.  I get why Brenda/Carly love him, but he is a great B character not an A character.

As funny as the riffs are, I'm also a little obsessed with when Jessie and Cynthia are alone together. Jessie knows exactly what's going to happen and has clearly resigned herself to it, while Cynthia seems to be trying her damndest to not let it happen.

Phil: "I won't be long."

"Jessie": "No kidding. You don't have to tell me."

Indeed.

When I read on-line reports that Frank has called Mo "the star of the show," it turns my stomach, truly. If anyone on the canvas today deserves that honor, it should be Genie.

True, as things stand right now, at this momednt, Genie Francis and Laura are in a solid place. I know this is a soap and everything can change on a dime without much warning, but...fingers crossed.

    • Assuming that Marland had been allowed to write the Carrie story the way he'd envisioned, Millette would've been involved in the story. And she might've played a role in Andy Norris' return (if the speculation on that had ever materialized, and Marland loved bringing back bad boys) But he doesn't seem interested in Sara's personal life. And the women of Springfield could only be analyzed so much.
    • This better be something, because as I said, so far it's just cliches and stereotypes -- the story we've heard a thousand times about the homeless person who doesn't want a home and prefers to live on the streets.
    • @rsclassicfanforever thank you very much for the recent uploads of season 13 containing some episodes that were skipped or glitchy on YouTube!  I had a look at 3172 though and there is no audio for most of it? Would you have a copy with complete audio? Fingers crossed! Thanks again!

    • I like Margaret well enough in what I've seen of her as Paige - she is green but she has real star power.  I agree about the actor who plays Brian. He's...mostly just there. Not bad but not great.  My main issue is with the guy who plays Owen. He's just not appealing to me. I can believe Nola being obsessed with him, but he's draining to watch.  I'm surprised people objected to the quasi-incest elements as it wasn't anything that new for soaps.  Speaking of Kim, here's a rare episode of an anthology show she did called The Evil Touch.

    •   I get what you're both saying, and I think the show was lucky to have even made it that long, but I think they could have still maintained a certain audience - Second Chances did before the earthquake. CBS was an older network anyway. I think the premise of Knots was still usable, it was more the characters who were a problem - many of the older figures were played out. If the show had done a better job building up its younger cast instead of making so many poor choices in the late '80s and early '90s, they could have kept things going a little longer.
    • I wish I cared about the homeless lady as much as everyone else seems to. After the nothing burger that was the lawsuit, this just feels like another boring Naomi storyline at Orphy Genes since she has no office.
    • That's great to hear. Thanks. I wish that was more readily available.
    • Just learned that Clifton Davis wrote this song!  I had no idea.

    • I think even if Marland had wanted to write more for Sara/Adam, his hands would have been tied as Robert Milli was one of the actors dumped by P&G due to his age.  From the bits and pieces I've seen of that period, Sara does have a key role in the Carrie plot, and Marland briefly gave her son Tim a more important part. I'm not sure if they just gave up on Tim once Kevin Bacon left or if they never really cared. I did not even know for many years that there was an actor in the part after Kevin...and then not one, but two. The Spauldingfield video on Tim doesn't even show the last actor (Nigel Reed), which kind of says it all. Anyway, I do get the sense Marland has some use for Sara, or for Millette. It's only after he goes that she is dumped. Of course he didn't ever hire her for his other shows, so maybe I'm wrong. (then again he never hired Geraldine Court either and he seemed very fond of her) Ann is an odd character to me as she is a proto-Lillian in being defined by pining for a Bauer brother and being involved in the death of one of their wives. I do wonder what else they could have done with her. She was friends with Diane, wasn't she? They could have had Diane manipulate her against Mike, I suppose.
