It would be nice if we lived in a world where John Stamos ( and some version of Mike Webber) could appear in Lesley’s funeral episode but it’s unlikely to happen.

Stamos almost appeared for the 50th, but was not pleased with Frank and Carlivati's goofy plans for him. He wanted something substantive.

I would never expect him to appear today, but I would have the character send a note with Mike or Laura.

Do you recall what Frank/Ron's plans were for Blackie? Was it ever revealed? I tried looking it up but couldn't really find anything. I remember Stamos's rant, but it's been a while lol.

Grain of salt, but the two separate things I recall hearing were Stamos claiming in print they 'just wanted him to play drums' at the Nurses Ball. And then there was I think a pretty legit rumor of another typical Ron gag where they'd hoped to get Demi Moore to do a cameo on Stamos' arm as well, so that "Blackie and Jackie" would return together as a couple, hahahaha so funny. Shades of the story Tony Call at OLTL told about Ron pitching him coming back after decades at the end of the show as Dorian's ex Herb Callison, now married to Judith Light's Karen Wolek, who he had outed as a hooker on the witness stand in the famous storyline everyone knows. Just a goofy gag that doesn't service the characters. Both Call and Judith Light turned the show down allegedly due to story, and Ron wrote several passive-aggressive jabs at Light into the show in the final months.

Either way, Stamos was put off and claimed he wanted something more appropriate to his character.

Thanks! I remember the part about the drums now. I see Stamos's point. I assume he wanted real scenes that explains where Blackie's been all these years and RC/FV wanted to have as many silly, "wink, wink", cameos as possible. I also assume there really wasn't enough time nor was it terribly relevant for Blackie to give us a breakdown of his last 30 years and his character arc lol.

Did FV/RC ever reach out to Ricky Martin? Because if anyone could pop in and sing it would have been him. I am sure Ricky is way too famous, but I do recall he was very amenable to the possibility in the early 2000's. Frank loves to name check Miguel Morez and his endless tour.

I think they could've made time to give Stamos a little subplot for a few days or a week or two if he wanted to be there. They had all sorts of dumb subplots going for a few weeks in those years, especially in the anniversary period. But it's whatever now.

Ron loved to bring up Miguel with both Sabrina and Juan, but I never heard that they reached out to Ricky. It would not surprise me if they had, but I think the show missed an earlier window where that could've been an option.

I obviously would take a Blackie subplot over the let's destroy Jax and Brenda in day sublot lol.

I think Ron and FV currently think it's so funny and special that Ricky was on the show. Do people in 2026 even get that joke? Considering the age of GH's fanbase, probably lol.

I remember Ricky saying he was extremely grateful to Wendy Riche, so she may have been able to swing a quick cameo in for a Nurse's Ball or some concert event. There would be no point in bringing Miguel back for any real arc, but the show did bring back Wagger lol.

For me, one of the (many) low points of that anniversary was Ronn Moss showing up to perform at the Nurses Ball with the rest of his '70's one-hit wonder group, Player, because Lesley was supposedly their manager BITD (and Young Spencer had to do something "bold" and "beautiful" to prove his love to Young Emma). That's some straight up, late era Lucille Ball bullshit right there.

The show memory holed that, but I don't forget that easily!!!

I totally forgot about Player at the Nurses Ball. Most of the acts are forgettable to me. I recall Jack Wagner singing, the guys in their underwear, and Mac with his dummy.

But seriously. I just didn't get why Ronn Moss/Player had to be there, or why their appearance was tied into Frank's miserable version of Our Gang. Were they a last-minute substitution for another group? Were they trying to lure in fans of B&B (or yacht rock)? Were they taking a few jabs at CBS and Bradley Bell? What was the damn point? (And while we're on the subject: Lesley as their one-time manager? REALLY??)

I mean, the Doobie Brothers popping up on an episode of "What's Happening!!" about the evils of bootleg concert tapes looks BRILLIANT compared to that hot mess, lol.
