I wonder how Glynnis O'Connor would have fared in the role of Heather? She was very popular during the 70's and could play innocent and bitchy with a hidden agenda. She was a bust as Margo on ATWT in the 90's.

Spending my afternoon watching old 90s GH under Wendy Ritchie. Man was the show at the peak of its quality under her. Luke & Laura, Sonny & Brenda, Max & Felicia, Robin, Jason, Carly, Kevin & Lucy, Audrey, Quartermaines, Amy, Bobbie & Tony, Cassadine resurgence, etc.

Can't ask for a better cast than that. It all went downhill so quickly.

As a fan since the 80’s when I was a kid, one of the things I loved was the deeper material Riche brought to the show allowed many of those actors a chance to really shine. They were always good, the show just didn’t really give them a lot of deeper stories to sink their teeth into.

This clip might already be posted here, it’s been on YouTube for a long time I think. But it has a lovely short interview with Emily McLaughlin and Genie Francis introducing the story in 1982 after she left the show. It has some good bts shots of the sets of the time too.

Depends on the period. For me that stops about 1996.

Probably tough to survive in the Monty years.

I've only seen Mary O'Brien in the infamous LSD scenes, but I think her work there is excellent. It's Brooke Bundy and her constant jitters that tend to annoy me when I try to watch her scenes.

I also think Mary O'Brien is excellent in what I've seen of Heather, both before and during the LSD trip (a fair amount of material from '78 and early '79 is online). She's very brittle and seems just off in a disturbingly real way. I think Monty just had it in for her.

Brooke should have stuck to situation comedy. She has that high histrionic voice that is better suited for a 3 camera live audience sitcom.

I still wonder if Diana Taylor would have been killed off had Valerie Starrett still been there. And I like Brooke Bundy, but she works better for me with an edge. If Diana had stayed after Jeff took his kid and Peter was dead, I could see BB playing Diana taking a turn for the dark side.

That version of Diana - so hardened - could have worked for me.

I think Diana was probably going to go even if Starrett had stayed, but I think she might have at least had a stronger end run. She is third or fourth string by the end in that whole story.
