In this clip, Sarah tells Emily and Jason about her brother Steven-Lars and Emily realises that Steven sounds just like the old Jason (an "easter egg" for those fans who would have realised Steven- Lars and Jason were second cousins), while Monica and Audrey talk about Monica's marriage to Jeff.

Jessie's final story was her romance with Dan Rooney, culminating with them going away together and discussing sexual intimacy. Jessie confessed it had been many years since she had been with a man; the last time had been with her husband. This was 1980, I believe. I thought Jessie and Dan were sweet together, but the relationship simply petered out without any fanfare. And yes, McLaughlin's health issues had begun in earnest in the mid-1970s. I remember when GH had to emergency recast her with actress Aneta Corseault in 1977. Later, the show created a minor character named Nurse Georgia Price, played  by Lisa Figus, who would step in and say Jessie's lines when McLaughlin was unable to work. Figus' Georgia  substituted for Jessie for many years, probably 1981 to 1988.

No. They went away together, and a bellman in a hotel gave Jessie a saucy wink to signify that he knew naughty plans were afoot, but Jessie and Dan never consummated their relationship as far as I know. After their mini vacation, I don't believe any focus was ever given again to their relationship. Jessie and Dan just went back to chatting occasionally at the nurses' station.

There were a few scenes in 1981 where Jessie was a bit put out when Dan started taking Ruby out on dates and started acting somewhat passive aggressively towards Ruby. Bobbie confronted Jessie about it (I think Bobbie pointed out that it was Jessie who decided to cool her relationship with Dan) and Jessie made up with Ruby and agreed they could both see Dan as friends. That said, from that point on I think from what I have seen Dan tended to take Ruby out more often and at some point they must have become exclusive and presumably Jessie was ok with that.

    • So Cat wasn't a creation of Ron C.. but something that the strike writers generated? Perhaps the new writers will give her some layers and purpose on the show that doesn't revolve around Chad since isn't he on his way out next year?
    • Another good show today, but -- Why is super agent Joss holding that thumb drive in plain sight instead of stashing it in her denim shorts? Make it make sense. -- Dante going after Gio (in the previews) for Rocco's alcohol poisoning is lame and cliche, just a contrived way to drive a wedge between father and son.
    • Didn't he get all angry because the strike writers set her up to be Abigail? And he just went with the first thing that came to mind in order to prevent that?

    • That was an incredible interview.  I cannot imagine it ever happening with a performer currently on a soap.  I remember being extremely disappointed in Michael Malone.  I wish we had all of the backstage scoop on where things went wrong with him.
    • Go 'head, Brandon!! I was worried about this meltdown, but he's giving a pretty good meltdown. Knowing when to do it and just the right moment to pull back a bit.    These Kat vs Eva scenes. The best soap rivalry has the rivals have some empathy for the others though they dislike each other. And they are giving.    Yay! A brief SilkPress vs Dani moment.
    • Yabbut didn't you hear Lulu nail Carly?!!! And, Carly, instantly owned that she had. Between Tracy & Lois early on & then Lulu & Carly later & the added dash of Lulu & Dante carried over from yesterday, GH today was Dialog City!!! Plus, as we predicted Rocco in hospital, health scare while Danny & Gio & Cody are caring & practical, etc.
    • Anita should have saved the mother speech considering the dismal job she did raising Dani... but compared to Silk Press Sheila, I guess she would be mother of the year. For me, I would preferred longer scenes of Nicole/Ted, Smitty/Martin, & Eva/Kat... and not done the whole Dupree Mafia scenes.  The only Dupree I only really care about is Nicole... and having their reactions diluted from Nicole finally being center stage. Unpopular opinion:  Anita singing was kinda cheesy and cringe LOL
    • Highlights today Anita Eva Kat Nicole Martin tried but fell felt If these past few shows were why they recast Ted, I get it
    • Lois and Tracy were Great Lulu should listen to Carly
