Whats there to fix? They got the return they wanted with these people and bringing back Holly again? Why? For what purpose same as Robert. Genie came back twice. the first time to stellar ratings the second time was not poorly written but was just like eh again and did not garnish anything. They aren't going to bring back all these expensive vets for long term story arcs when they have already brought them back and have a huge cast already. AJ I could see because there is a ton of long term story potential with him, he's still a relatively young character, and his presence would impact the main leads on the show same as RH's Todd. EMily maybe to a lessor degree but with the Cassadines gone who cares. Alan, well he is coming back in a limited capacity.

Well then why not kill off everyone except Sonny, Jason and Carly if none of these characters are important? Again, I just think well-written vet returns would increase ratings. The 2nd time for Laura wasn't half-bad but most of them were horrendous. Have Holly come back and let everyone know that Luke didn't cheat on Laura and that Ethan is truly a Scorpio. Lots of angst for the Spencers and Robin finally has a sibling. Again, I see a lot of potential but I get that you don't. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Highest ratings in almost three years? And they're canceling this gem of a show? It's an outrage. I hope One Life to Live goes out with a BANG in the ratings over the next 5 months and everything comes crashing down once The Revolution fails to take off.

I don't think I said none of these characters were important I said I don't think they would do squat for ratings anymore and I still don't. I don't see Dixie's return doing a thing for AMC this time because guess what, been there done that its anti climatic.

Speaking for myself, I don't care about Holly anymore. Robert maybe for Robin or even Anna. Laura is really about the only one that I think there is story waiting for. The TOdd story is good because its been a story waiting to be told that fans have been wishing for for years and all of Todds main connections on canvas are FB characters on the show. Whats the story awaiting Robert, Anna or Holly or even Felicia that fans are clamoring for. That was my only point. I think thats why Dixie's return on AMC has fallen so flat because while Cady is a fan fave and people loved Dixie. another return another back from the dead? And there are younger and more recent characters they could bring back like AJ who I think would have a ton more story potential than Robert and Holly or Anna at this point with Jason and Carly. And I love Alan to death but brining back a 70 year old character back from the dead why?

People doubted but I always said OLTL would get a ratings boost within one year of the ATWT cancellation. In many Eastern markets, the show runs up against nothing but talk shows and a certain segment of viewers are really into soaps. The smart addidtion of PGP actors certainly helped lure in eyes. The buzz from the cancellation press has died down by now yet OLTL still gains. A lot of people dislike RC's over the top style of writing but he has turned OLTL into a niche show with semi-mass appeal. (I think he would be a perfect fit as HW for Days but that will never happen). With a tiny budget, OLTL is the only soap to be gaining and this is pretty cool.

Y&R feels like a different show these days. Hogan is turning GC into a recycled Crackdale with Paul Williams cast as the new Hal Munsun and Sharon as Emily Stewart.

You are trying to twist what you said to match up with OLTL's current gains. You said that the show would be #3 and over 3 million viewers by December 2010. Didn't happen. The ratings started going up after cancellation was announced and the past was really the first time they have shown strong gains and that was because of Two Todds.

IMO if the writing on GH was good enough, bringing back the past wouldn't be important. (Except Monica!)

I love Dr Alan and I can't wait to see him. From what I took away from an interview with SB, Dr Alan is only in Jason's dream.

Nothing more. sad.png

    • Hump Day Thoughts Let me start with the snark: I can accept that John's memorial will be held at the pub—but I do not believe that a man who spent years thinking he was a priest (and fought the devil twice) wouldn’t have wanted a church funeral. It’s not the choice of venue that bothers me—it’s the casual, throwaway dialogue that pulls me out of the moment. That said, I was genuinely riveted by the scenes of everyone catching Bo up on what he’s missed. His sense of shock and grief felt earned. Imagine waking up to find that so many people you loved had died—and that you’d caused so much pain to your wife and son. That brief moment of overwhelm was beautifully played. (Of course, IRL, someone would’ve eventually told him: “Honestly, Bo, you were lucky to sleep through the Ron C. years.”

) Also, kudos to Hope for maintaining Bo’s beard, haircuts, and dye jobs all these years. I actually found it realistic. Many families of coma patients do keep up with grooming, partly as a way to pass time at the bedside. And let’s be honest: in real life, a lot of bearded men wake up clean-shaven because the machines require it… or because their wives secretly hated the beard all along. Props to Brandon Beemer today for stepping up and showing more emotional range than his usual “intensity mode.” It added depth, and it was needed. As for the chatter about the gay quad. I’ve read the comments, and I get the appeal, but I’ve never been a Paul fan. The guy’s just a drip. Not for me.
    • Honestly Mona shouldn’t even matter. Shanice freaking talked to Leslie. But no one seems to think to show her the footage or picture of Leslie? It’s such a stupid glaring hole.
    • Delusional Dani would view it as hope... but realistically, it's being cordial and adult...  something they both need to do.  Especially if Naomi and Chelsea ever decide to have children... it would be nice to have them being mature around one another and their kids and grandkids.   Kat needs to simmer down and let the police do their job.  I can excuse the coat and trying it on because she didn't know that it was previously Silk Press Sheila's... but the way she was with Mona when Mona was asked to ID the person in the video was Kat 'leading the witness on'. Even Mona said that she was now more then determined to see if Leslie/Dana was on the camera.   So a defense attorney could paint Mona as an unreliable witness.
    • Even though I can firm a map of Michigan (that included Bay City) was used on the show, I still never heard Michigan referred to in any of the dialogue -- ever.  So the map doesn't really make it canon, in my opinion.  That map was probably supplied by the prop-guy, and he might not have even told TPTB that he was going to use an identifiable state map.  On the other hand, there were hints that it was in Michigan, with references to cold winters, etc.  And on Somerset, a nearby city was Lansing.  But I don't recall Lansing ever being mentioned on AW, but perhaps it was.   I do wish TPTB would have made AW's canonical location in Michigan.  First, because many fans already believed it was in Michigan, and because eventually putting all the remaining P&G soap opera cities in Illinois was silly and pointless.  Variety is the spice of live, my dears.

date: Wednesday, June 4 | Sara A. Bible, Danielle Paige | Phideaux Xavier Anita is definitely lost in space. The space of her own mind and history. Oh, hello, miss eye-sex at the bar of Uptown! I see you eye-sexing Ms Chelsea! We love to see it. Shanice stopped Dana dead in her tracks. Good on her. It comes out: Barbara was the fourth Articulette, started the group, came up with the name, etc. Dante Greene is about to become the most hated man to exist in this universe, and that's a high-level position that many covet. I appreciate seeing Anita own up to her wrongdoings and that Vernon is still by her side. So, Sharon wants to use Anita for her own benefit, and that does surprise me. That ugliness is right there. At least Tracy, outwardly, seems more open to forgiving Anita and reuniting for the one-off concert. I had a feeling it might've been a stroke (or mini-stroke) but did not want to admit it. It hits close to home for me. Very close. Oh, that glimmer and gleam in Bill's eye and that ever-so-slight smirk on his face of Dani checking on him at the hospital. Yeah. He's still got it for her. Vernon continues to be a wise man with some wisdom unlike any other, and I love that he's getting through to Anita. Ugh. Sharon, you're ugly, ugly, ugly. You will reap what you sow. That's right, child bride, watch the woman that knows your husband better than you ever could. Katherine, mama, sit down and be careful. Now this is in the firm hands of Jacob and the police department. Dana, barking up Andre's tree. She works fast. Like a bitch in heat, fast. The one thing Tracy has with Anita that unites them is their love for Barbara and acknowledging her as part of the Articulette's history. Andre, you big dumb dumb. You never saw the suspect the footage before the police can. Ugh. Notes: For the first time in a while, we see Tide and get a commercial right after.
