I think it's official....I'm pretty much Garin's only fan. laugh.png

I've been liking scenes like Diane/Mac, and others that we've been getting like it. Some say the show has been boring, but I've been loving the dialogue and interaction between the characters.

I have always wanted Diane and Mac. I think Dax is a joke and Alexis/Mac is a non-starter. Diane and Mac had instant chemistry the first time they met way back when. I want to see more of that. Alexis was best with Agent what's-his-name.

And I like Gavin. He's given us some of the sweetest LuNacy ever and so far I've been happy with his balance. AND he's given Carly and Sonny some major face in response to their behaviour. What's not to love?

Me too. The wind has been taken out of their respective sails. While I still have no use for Laura Wright, the writing for the character has become more human in story and dialogue. It's not just Carly shrieking at a person... it's the person saying "Oh, yeah? Well, guess what?" right back at her... and even allowed to win a scene or two. And I've noticed that the Carly character does take moments out to think about her actions. It's not some blind Karen Harris "Well, Jason, Carly and Sonny always win!" type of crap. Especially in arguments they don't have a leg to stand on. Look... Carly Corinthos Jacks will never be Carly Benson as long as LW's playing her. But at least the other characters who have to deal with Carly Corinthos Jacks are able to call her out.

Preach! The bitch is a classic co-dependent enabler. She has no use in life unless she's chasing around one of her addict relatives. She wants Lucky to be back on drugs so she can transfer her daddy issues. She can't save Luke, she'll save Lucky. Because, lo and behold, when Spinelli -- as supposed friend of hers -- is acting completely out of whack, she's all smiling and giggling like it's some big joke. Of course, it's only because the attention was being focused on her, so of course that was okay.

But, also, to your point, about the fact that she waaaaahed about rehab for Luke, she called Lucky and his AA brethren a bunch of brainwashed cult members. NOW -- NOW!!!!! -- she's all of a sudden about the lingo and steps and enabling and signs of a user?! Honey, take your botoxed face back to obsessing about Dante's police business.

"What was that call about?"

"Arresting who?"

"Who's being questioned?!"

I said that just a couple of days ago and I'm glad Diane said it, too. His life has been nothing but "The Gurhls" and police business for the last eleven years. I started watching GH in 2000, and I hear rumors and see clips about Mac and the Outback and I'm like... what happened?

I have a few problems with his storytelling as far as pacing (we had to wait until today for the Alexis/Mac/Diane/Coleman pick up? And it's been the same day for the last 3 weeks?!), but I definitely enjoy the attention to character development. I also agree that it's still too soon to judge. I want to see how these arcs play out: Jason and the accident, Lucky and the drugs, etc.

I'm liking Garins work so far to, I love that more characters have been getting screen time. It's definitely a lot more balanced.

He won me over with those Johnny/Anthony scenes last week with the piano. Just amazing. He knows & cares!

The Mac/Alexies/Coleman/Diane stuff suddenly coming back today was weird. That was a Dena Higley move right there. I hope that doesn't become a regular thing for GH!

I'm bored with them. Have been ever since Anthony returned. Bruce Weitz works my nerves with the cartoonish crap.

This is just my guess... because I dislike this, too and hope it works itself out... but I think it's has to do with when he's allowed to use specific characters/actors and when he can't -- in direct contrast to when production schedules them. Because NLG tweeted that they taped all of the pool table scenes in one day. However, the scenes spanned over 3 episodes. Since actors get paid per episode, and this is all hypothetical, I can see how he used them in this fashion. Yet, it still doesn't excuse the fact that Mac/Alexis/Coleman/Diane froze in time for an entire episode. So I think that's where they whole issue is. Garin's ability to weave story around these limitations of character/actor availability. Because today -- guess what! We have no pick up of the Jason storyline. So, kinda like what I said before, the character exploration is great -- but the pacing is OFF!
