Members quartermainefan
But it's the truth. AMC is nothing without Susan Lucci, and that's the way it has been for decades. No one is going to pay attention to an AMC without her.

Members marceline
I agree. PP played this perfectly. But I believe that Susan Lucci is bigger than PP. She doesn't need them. They (apparently) need her but as long as they keep acting like ABC, I'm perfectly fine with PP rotting in hell, no matter how much I love Wilfred. It's your truth. Not mine. I love SuLu but for me there's more to AMC than Erica Kane.
Members John
Fans may see her as not AMC & I agree But The investors that PP could be courting may want Lucci or else. You never know maybe this investor search could lead Lucci to sign on.
Members Angela
If Susan Lucci is IT to investors why even proceed with OLTL? I don't think the problem is OLTL is getting investors but AMC is not as I don't think the investor part of this was gone into as separate endeavors. There's been a lot of conjecture without fact from other publications since Soaps In Depth's article. OLTL is moving forward. AMC is rumored to be stalled. The reason for one over the other is obvious IMO and it's that OLTL is way ahead of AMC in behind the scenes movement for whatever reason. 13 actors to 3, a writer, an executive producer, a location, etc
Members John
Yeah Plus PP may feel if we get OLTL up and it does well we will get more money for AMC
Members marceline
Agreed. For whatever reason, OLTL is farther ahead. Maybe it's because FV is the new Frons. Maybe it's an East coat/West coast thing. Whatever. I'm just becoming increasingly happy that the AMC actors held out. Frankly, as long as Valentini is in charge at PP, I'm not enthusiastic about AMC 2.0. I don't want him or RC anywhere near AMC.
Members Angela
That also. I agree. If they show them they're capable and successful with OLTL, they'll get more investors and they may get more AMC actors interested. But really, they need to work out a deal with AFTRA. If it isn't, that needs to be the focus. I don't think they can legally do anything with what they have without that deal in place. I'm not a big fan of Prospect Park right now because I think they're doing a poor job at communication so far - and not just with all of us but with their performers. I can't help but think there's poor communication going on when Hartley and Mathison, two of the signed PP actors, have no idea what's going on. For all the actors they didn't contact like Willey or Strasser, would it hurt to drop a we give a crap letter or e-mail to these actors? I'd like to think there's going to be a learning curve towards a positive direction with communication eventually, too.

Members Angela
I kind of love that "people who haven't been offered deals will be offered deals after a small window of time from my comment. Maybe November 2011, maybe November 2012."

Members juppiter
They can still do that if and/or when the online venture fails. I had a feeling from the start it would be tricky to continue AMC -- the show had just been stripped of its identity by years of bad decisions and was unrecognizable at the end, kind of like GL. To me, OLTL was more like ATWT where there were bad decisions, but still a good amount of important characters hanging around and plenty of potential story left to tell. That said I wish they would at least try to continue AMC even if they have to reboot the hell out of it and keep only a few characters.
Members Khan
Stifle it, Tonja! Jill Mitwell has said in the past she has no desire to become an EP; Ed Scott would be wrong for AMC; Mikey Malone can't head-write to save his damned neck; and after what John Conboy did to my other favorite soap, GUIDING LIGHT, you've got to be high if you think I'll endorse his taking over AMC! Yep.
Members dragonflies
I wonder if it's the person I'm thinking of who won't listen and back off. If it's the person who attacked Errol on twitter awhile back. Errol I'm sure knows who I'm referring too
Members TeamEric
It's the truth because Lucci, ABC and the press all colluded into remaking AMC into more of a cult of personality, it became more the Susan Lucci Hour. No matter her airtime, it was Lucci's soap, not AMC. PP is exploiting that truth to their benefit, IMO, to escape blame.
