Even if this news isn't true--and both AMC & OLTL make it online--I think that it is a very realistic possibility (given all the money problems PP is having) that these shows are going to look dirt cheap (like like the last 18 months of GL did). Although both options are horrible for Nixon soap fans, I think it would be to their benefit for PP to throw in the towel as opposed to putting out half-assed productions.

What upsets me the most is not the prospect that either soap may not make it online, but rather that this whole long-shot venture robbed AMC & OLTL fans of closure (and of satisfying finales) to begin with. The fact that none of my beloved P&G soaps weren't saved had nothing to do with my feelings towards this venture. (Honestly, I'm glad that my emotions weren't toyed with and that I didn't go through this bullshit.)

I dont see why anyone would assume the shows would look cheap when the WSJ article said their financial targets were based on the current budget of the shows. Maybe I am an optimist.

AMC makes me sad but its not unexpected. But I would not assume OLTL is dead. It kind of depends how far they have progressed in raising money. Its not shock they have had difficulties with a sluggish economy, Hollywood projects in general having difficulty getting funding, and the overall skeptimism of this venture by potential investors. It would be a hard sell in a thriving economy. I still think that OLTL might have a shot
