I had always hoped it was taped just because that could convince me these are just insane and evil light shows created by aliens bent on manipulating the public for research purposes.

Just picked up the special SOD/SOW AMC tribute issue...

It's ok but has kind of a tacky look to it to be honest. It recaps key points from every year, has some nice family trees, has the major weddings (Erica and Adam get their own pages), goes through the major couplings (Greenleo but no Rylee FTW!) but most of it is interviews and quotes from stars past and present. I guess that's interesting but it's not what I most look for in these types of "companions."

ETA: It does have some other subsections like famous alums, famous guests, reel to real couplings, stories with real heart, the dual roles, the best villains, on location images, in memoriam, Emmy wins, and what they call the most iconic 10 images from the show's vault.

No indeed lol Too many spontaneous and awkward things happen on that show for it to be anything but live!

They can have her she lost her edge after the middle 90s.... What is really wrong with Daytime the constant recycling of used people is really getting out of hand from Writer to Directors. Why can they bring on new people instead of bring old people who really don't know what to do anymore .

She's definitely one of the better casting directors around (even with all the misses she's made lately). She had a great eye for finding young talent (especially in the first couple of years of her run).

Despite Denise Vasi, I'd put that in the loss category. I wonder if this means we'll see even more former "AMC" stars on "Y&R."

If PP really gets a cable deal to air on Bravo or elsewhere, he's got little to lose. Why not try it?

Because, AFAIK, Peter Bergman is still on-contract w/ Y&R, and that's a position that isn't likely to change very soon.

But I do like your thinking, Vee. :)

I've met JBW and she seemed like a very pleasant lady. She's a Texan and she's got a bit of a drawl, her late husband was actor Trey Wilson (Raising Arizona). Although she's responsible for seeing talent submitted by their representation and presenting her picks to the higher ups for contract roles, we must remember that she is not ultimately responsible for who gets the role. There is pressure from her superiors to make decisions based on superficial reasons and she will admit that the best actor does not always get the job.

I wish Skye would return, even though I have heard that Robin [Christopher] is disinterested in returning to AMC.

I've heard this, too, and it baffles me. What does RC have against AMC? Did Agnes call her a rhymes-with-runt or something?

Thus [...] AMC will forever be stuck in LA.
