This is Daytime Dish so don't take it as fact, but one of their insiders claim Melissa Archer and Jerry Ver Dorn have signed on to Prospect Park OLTL and it will be announced with the next set of announcements. I believe it, both have been very vocal about their excitement over the new venture.

I believe it as well. Theyre doing good so far. Just no Fords. :)

With AMC it's *so* star and couple based which difficult. I also don't feel like they did a good job of building a next generation. It also doesn't help that even then you still have lots of people who want to leave, mostly big stars. Of course it's too soon to tell, but if it were me I'd try and launch a new soap and forget AMC. They should've tied the loose ends up and ended it to begin with. Either that or have a plan in place a lot sooner. Everybody knew which stars would be hard sells or hot commodoties. Like Debbie Morgan and Susan Lucci. Before PP picked up the soaps it was already announced that Sony wanted Morgan. PP should've signed them to a holding deal until everything was sorted out. Then negotiate once they're clear on what will happen.

I think it would be tough to hold Debbi Morgan, since so much of this is up in the air, and Y&R is probably at least six months of sure employment.

The essence of AMC is something very unique - you could see that again in the 40th anniversary episode, and in scattered moments here and there in more recent episodes. That's what they should try to bring back. I also think they should focus on the past, bringing in people like Bobby Warner, Nina, Nina's other child, Sam, perhaps Tom, Livia, Jamal, Dani, Reggie.

We knew months ago Sony was interested in DM and I would not be surprised if Brad Bell contacted JY not soon after the cancellation also. But for all the rah rah about OLTL and PP, does anyone think if any of these folks actually had a legit offer from any other soap they would not have gone? I dont'.Regardless of the success of the show in recent months and such, its still a risky venture. Erica Slezak is likely financially secure so its not really a gamble for her. No offense to KDP fans but I don't believe at her age any other soap was clamoring to sign her. Its not a criticism just a fact. Michael Easton no I don't buy anyone was soliciting him so not shocked he signed. Ted King relocated to NY for the show. But its also the only show left in NYC so no one has to relocate to join another show.

I assume JY is moving to LA and that Debbi Morgan is likely going to continue her commuting in some fashion. Some of the AMC actors did relocate. BUt I have a feeling some of the actors decisions to leave or not fully commit, I wonder how many would jump back if Lucci signed and if they found out PP secured a cable deal. Although I don't believe they could secure one without having more of the cast in place.

All My Children most definitely should have a chance online. I feel that there is so much life still in the show and I just hope beyond hope that we hear of some AMC's actors have signed on.

Probably not, but in the cases of Ted King and Michael Easton, they probably could have found work fairly easily on another soap. That's one of the reasons I was surprised at their signings.

Since AMC On ABC ends on a cl & PP rerquesting Actors not say who is being talked to

OLTL will just continue from ABC to Online with any or maybe a week break at the most so no need for cliffhanger so Finding out whose signing from there is prolly not a big deal.

Nor had I, but it is true that in the current spoiler heavy soap climate, AMC has done a remarkable job of keeping their finale under wraps.

I also think OLTL has it easier since the show is so successful, yet underrated (which in turn makes the actors underrated) so it's easier for them to want to sign on. There is no star, it's truly an ensemble soap and one of the best at adding new characters/recasts so Prospect's main focus will be finding a good writer to continue.

I actually think, in a twisted way, the loss of stars may turn out to benefit AMC--particularly if we lose Ryan lol. The show will have to rebuild and re focus--which it's been in need of for a long time. It woul dbe a coup, and to its benefit, if they could get a long gone star to anchor the show--but really we already have that opportunity with Jill Larsen who, judging by her frequent posts on the SAVE AMC Facebook page is almost desperate to be in the online version. Have her re open Myrtle's boarding house and act as a centering figure--it seems a no brainer to me. While short term story arcs rarely ahve worked on American soaps, it might be different online, and they couldeven have some short term stories and characters associated with the new characters who stay with her--while still having slower stories with the established cast.

In that sense I actually think AMC could benefit far more than OLTL in its new incarnation.

I don't think there's a chance in hell of losing Ryan. Unless CM actually does get the Regis gig. The question is will they re-cast Greenlee, or will they give Ryan a fighting chance by starting fresh with him?

I dont see why OLTL would not have some sort of cliffhanger. How else are you going to encourage people to go online. I honestly dont see why the situations would be much different other than AMC has a 3 month gap potentially. I don't see how anyone can assume people will tune out on ABC and tune in online just because the show might be contiuing the following Monday. I also dont know why Walt Willey would have told people no one had been contacted versus just not saying anything.

Is he in the running to replace Regis?

OLTL is doing cliffhangers.

And I'd be shocked if Cameron didn't go to the new show, unfortunately.

JY said in an interview Brad contacted him when amc was cancelled and that throughout the years BB has shown interest in JY returning.

Until PP has its site or channel or whatever up and running figuring out how to "move" people online is kind of a moot point. It's going to take a hell of a lot of promotion to make offline viewers aware of the new venture. Of course maybe PP can buy Hulu now that its on the block. LOL!

As for Walt, I love the guy but he's done exactly what Strasser did. He put other people's business out in the street. After this I wouldn't tell him what I had for lunch.
