“General Hospital” again set a new season high in Women 18-49 and among Total Viewers, crossing the two million viewer mark for the second consecutive week.
“The View” returned to originals after a two-week hiatus and marked a new season high among Total Viewers.
“The Bold and the Beautiful” ranked a solid No. 1 among soaps in Women 18-49 (0.24 rating) during the first full week of 2026 (January 5-9, 2026), topping “The Young and the Restless” (0.22 rating), which ranked second, and a surging “General Hospital” (0.21 rating), which placed third.
For the week, the half-hour drama series was up +0.04 week-to-week in Women 18-49 (0.24 rating vs. 0.20 rating) and up +0.02 among Women 25-54 (0.32 rating vs. 0.30 rating). Among Total Viewers, the show was down -110,000 (2.484 million vs. 2.594 million), marking its second-lowest audience of the season and its least-watched week overall since the week of November 3-7, 2025. The soap opera was on par with its year ago performance among Women 18-49 (0.24 rating).
Despite being down -137,000 viewers week-to-week (2.865 million vs. 3.002 million) and ranking second among soaps in Women 18-49, “The Young and the Restless” saw a week-to-week gain of +0.01 in the key demo (0.22 rating vs. 0.21 rating) and was up +0.02 among Women 25-54 (0.37 rating vs. 0.35 rating).
“General Hospital” continued to perform well, hitting a new season high among Women 18-49 (0.21 rating) and Total Viewers (2.041 million), attracting its largest overall audience since the week of July 28 – August 1, 2025. Compared to its performance one week earlier, the soap opera was down -0.01 among Women 25-54 (0.26 rating vs. 0.27 rating), though it remained on the higher end of its season average in the key demo. Additionally, the series was up +33,000 viewers and was the only daytime broadcast show to see gains in the category. Among Households, the show’s 1.3 rating tied its season high and was its best performance in the category since the week of September 22-26, 2025.
Returning to originals after a two-week hiatus, “The View” tied “The Bold and the Beautiful” to rank third among Women 18-49 (0.24 rating) and marked a new season high among Total Viewers (2.610 million). Compared to its performance during the same week last year, the talk show was up +0.01 among Women 18-49 (0.24 ratings vs. 0.23 rating) and attracted its largest overall audience in 10 months (since the week of March 3-7, 2025).
“TODAY 3rd Hour” saw a sharp week-to-week decline among Women 18-49 (0.20 rating vs. 0.28 rating), falling below lead-out “TODAY with Jenna & Friends” (0.21 rating) for the second time this season. This week marked the final week of “TODAY with Jenna & Friends,” which was rebranded to “TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle” as of Monday, January 12, 2026.
“GMA3” tied its season high among Women 18-49 (0.18 rating) and marked its second-best performance of the season among Women 25-54 (0.23 rating).
