I'm up to May 1994. Thank goodness for Kimberlin Brown returning from maternity leave to add some much needed drama. Right now I'm bored with the whole silly Macy/Anthony/Sally thing, and Taylor having the guilts over betraying Ridge. The best thing has been googling the actor who played little CJ and seeing what a beautiful man he turned into.

When me and my husband talk about the show, we always ignore 1994 and the Leila storyline. We act like it never happened. I was VERY close to aborting my classic watch when this s-it was on. VERY close. I had to cringe for weeks till we go pass that period.

I love to skip and fast-forward, but my husband is like you and he doesn't even allow me to skip 1 second when we watch. We started from episode one... 2 and a half years ago... and we are up to mid 2002.

I'm like your husband then...though lately I have been "watching" while doing dishes etc with AirPods on so I'm not necessarily watching everything, but listening to everything. You've done incredibly well to plough through 15 years in 2.5 years. Sadly I watch too much other stuff to plough through it but at least it gives time for the English speaking episodes to avail themselves.

Lately we've been going max 2-3 episodes every night in front of the TV. In the beginning... we were binging like crazy... I think when Brooke was taking over Forrester (our favorite storyline) aka BeLief, we didn't sleep one night to watch for hours and hours... We watched these first years in couple of months. That's how fast we were going. I took my hard-drive... with the entire Vault... everywhere with me - I've been on holidays, visited countries, been on the beach... and that hard drive is always with me. We've even watched on planes. I plug it in the TV and the episodes are there. 1994 to 1999 was very painful and slow and 1999 to 2002 we've been picking up pace - some slow periods where we watch 1 episode a day... and then binge-moments (Morgan storyline for example). BUT now I'm restricting to how much we watch since I don't want the good to end... and I know that once we pass 2005... then... You know.

They seem to fancy the super short closing as well a bit. And updated opening in August 1997 episodes Glad they finally did update Sally and Sheila’s portraits at that point. Now it really start to feel like an era I personally started watching

I had the same experience! I loved the Laila storyline when I watched it as a kid but cringed when watching it now - probably because at that time I didn't know when Taylor was finally going to reveal herself, and it always felt like it was just about to happen any day, and watching now I just sat back and went "yeah, this is going to take a year". Also, of course, all the plot holes are so much more visible now.

That being said, I still find it unintentionally hilarious, and when watching it on Youtube a lot of us had fun rooting for Mustapha and Ahmed (who were actually good supporting characters) instead of any of the ridiculously written main characters.

To me, the real decline in quality came in 1994 with the introduction of Jessica and the teen storyline. The rest of 1994 was very uneven and the storylines felt disconnected. Then I enjoyed the first half of 1995 with the Sheila and Anthony storylines, but the second half of 1995 was a chore to watch, with every single storyline idea ending in a dead end (until Sheila's return when things got better again as we got the Bridget paternity reveal).
