June 10, 201114 yr Member I doubt anyone at NBC will give a damn (and apparently the crowd didn't either, based on the reports of the audience loving it), but I thought you might want to know. http://entertainment.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474979428026 Edited June 10, 201114 yr by CarlD2

When he did it in Inbred, USA they applaud and cheer.
June 10, 201114 yr Member I hope, though I realize otherwise, that this ruins his career indefinitely, considering he was never, even remotely, funny in all his life.
June 10, 201114 yr Member For me the worst part isnt the homohpobic aspect of it; its that he would joke about murdering his own child. His sons are all old enough (20-25). What if one of them really is gay? I feel bad for them regardless of what their sexuality might be. What a horrendous and insensitive thing to come out and say publicly.
June 10, 201114 yr Member I didn't realize his children were that old. Yeah, it's appalling. But "it's just comedy" and "it's a joke" and all that bullsh!t. I can't with these people. And then the first amendment people. Who is threatening to arrest or sue him? He has a right to say what he wants to say. People have a right to wash their hands of him and encourage others to do the same. If Fey and co. fire him, it's because he's bad for business.
June 10, 201114 yr Member Reading this made me literally angry. And sad that there are still so many close minded, bigoted people in this world. I understand the first amendment bullshit, but he does represent an entity 9NBC/30 Rock) and he has no doubt negatively impacted that entity. 30 Rock has abysmal ratings as it is, I sure as hell won't ever casually tune in anymore. I've never really watched it and always thought I should since people say its so good.... well not now. Edited June 10, 201114 yr by Adam
June 10, 201114 yr Member Wow. That is truly ridiculous. Unbelievable; I don't know why I'm shocked but such hatred always shocks me, even though I do know that it still very much exists. And the comments in the article claiming that we should "relax" because it's just comedy? Pathetic excuse. You wanna see non-homophobic fun of gays? Try Lampanelli. There is ALWAYS a difference between good-natured humor and humor that's meant to diminish and hurt. There is always a difference between making fun or satirizing something you like/support/don't have a problem with and condemning something with ignorance and hate. 'Nuff said.
June 10, 201114 yr Member I really can't see how anyone who actually read the comments could defend them as just "comedy." I didn't see any punch lines in that sh!t.

That's why I didn't bother reading the comments on this, anywhere. When someone makes vile remarks against gays, the reaction is always: - Why so PC? - Don't gays have enough to worry about? - This is why people hate gays, because they can't take a joke! - Bless him for speaking the truth! - Free speech! - You're the real bigot! And so on and so on. This type of behavior will make him a martyr to many, and others will just ignore it. I won't be watching or buying anything related to Tina Fey or SNL as long as they condone these violent comments. Edited June 11, 201114 yr by CarlD2
June 12, 201114 yr Member I won't be watching or buying anything related to Tina Fey or SNL as long as they condone these violent comments. First, he hasn't been on Saturday Night Live in years (thank god). I would have a hard time watching him if he was still on it. See some people can hide behind Hollywood and everything, build their perfect image with their agents but eventually their true colors will come out. they are either bigoted or have these real bad personalites deep down. I've seen it happen so many times. Tracy is just the new one in a long list. Rosie O'donnel is one. Mel Gibson is another one. Even Alec Baldwin can blow up and be real cruel, remember that phone message to his daughter. Tracy is just letting his true colors out. Just because you are on a TV show or whatever and you are paid to be funny and loveable, sometimes it's just a cover. and eventually the veil is lifted and the true person comes out. June 12, 201114 yr Author Member Lorne Michaels, who does 30 Rock, also does SNL. SNL hasn't exactly been subtle in hiding its own bigotries over the years, especially towards gays, so it all ends up blurring together for me.
June 12, 201114 yr Member Don't shun Tina Fey! She's already spoken out in disgust against Tracy's rant.
June 13, 201114 yr Member He's working the damage control rounds: http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/06/13/tracy-morgan-i-know-bullying-can-hurt/
June 14, 201114 yr Member UPDATE: Morgan has agreed to go to Nashville with GLAAD to protest the state's controversial "Don't Say Gay" bill, according to E! Online. He spoke to the site's Marc Malkin about his regrets over his rant, emphasizing his belief that all children should be loved, regardless of sexuality. "I know how bad bullying can hurt," Morgan said. "I was bullied when I was a kid. I'm sorry for what I said. I didn't mean it. I never want to use my comedy to hurt anyone. My family knew what it was like to feel different. My brother was disabled and I lost my father to AIDS in 1987.... Parents should support and love their kids no matter what. Gay people deserve the same right to be happy in this country as everyone else. Our laws should support that." he seems to be covering every group. I assume he will soon discover he is secretly jewish and was a victim of antisemitism without even realizing it. I personally don't buy a thing he is selling.
