Bin Laden killed

Didn't they speculate he killed himself along with his wife?

Yes, but the whereabouts of his remains, which the Soviets found and took with them, are debated to this day.

And of course Pakistan knew where he was all along. That house was a pretty cushy setup. Of course, there's no way to really do anything about that, lawfully.

I knew a couple in Brooklyn in my old neighborhood, and they're now getting big in the pastry/dessert business here. The husband became a chef after being injured as a first responder in the towers, and while we never really discussed it I know that it changed his life and that he lost friends. I haven't spoken to them since I moved further up but I am thinking of them tonight.

On CNN they spoke briefly to a firefighter who had to retire after 9/11 because of a lung injury. They must be feeling such mixed emotions tonight.

Thanks.

At least they are BOTH dead.

Well at least we know Osama Bin Laden was killed 1 week ago and DNA was done (prob.several times to wait so long to confirm).

It's being reported that strangers are randomly hugging each other on the street. This is really amazing!

And with that, Obama's re-election for 2012 is ironclad.

Don't hate me for this yall, but I think traditions should be respected. In all of the personal sh!t I've dealt with, I've always believed that "Killing them with kindness" leaves you with the best feeling. You know that you never stooped their level, and you know that if they attack you again, it's not because of anything you've done.

I agree with you, what I don't agree with is how some people try to sound hip and contrary just for the sake of it, coddling a man who deserves no such thing. Even offering him the most basic of human decencies is offering him more than what all of those people who perished got. So to be too resepectful is in turn disrespectful to the memories of the lost and their survivors.
