The whole thing was ridiculous: Eterna, Megan and Sarah wondering which of them was Viki's daughter, the "feud" between Megan and Viki that was over so quickly.

The show was so down-to-earth, naturalistic and character driven during its first decade, it was hard to see how trite and ridiculous it had become with storylines like Eterna. Comparing the story of Carla passing for white to Viki going to secret underground cities or to heaven on a spaceship...UGH. What a disgrace.

I enjoyed both the Viki in Heaven storyline as well as the Dr. Dorian in Hades storyline.   It reminds me of the show's original working title (Between Heaven and Hell).

Wow, Tommy Lee Jones looked old even back then.

In response to falling ratings, it was Agnes Nixon's suggestion to headwriter Gordon Russell that Victor Lord be killed off. Russell had not planned for this in his own projections.

She felt that the show was too stagnant and such an event would send characters in a new direction.

I thought that was Joe Riley (or was he not on the show at this time?).

Oh gosh, you are right. I believe that IS Joe Riley. When I watched the clip, I did not even look at the character in bed; I was concentrating on the actress to identify her, as someone had requested.

Still, my comment about TLJ is still true. He was a major babe on OLTL. Tom Berenger too.
