I've seen that one somewhere. I don't know why I thought that was Trish Van Devere as Meredith above - is it definitely Sharon Laughlin's Viki?

I've actually never seen this shot that I know of:

I wonder why both of the actresses who played Viki were pictured together?

Could this picture have been made during the period of auditioning for the roles?  I recall that Ellen Holly (as Clara) did not appear onscreen until the second month of the show.

I'm going to have to disagree. I believe that is Trish Van Devere in the photo with Agnes.

She does resemble Sharon Loughlin. Maybe too closely and that was one of the reasons she was dropped.

I doubt very much an actress who was dropped from the show before the debut would be posing happily with her replacement.

No I think this is an early promo shot of the leading ladies of the show.

Let’s see….in the pic with Agnes….the characters are Anna Craig, Viki 2 (from episode one), Meredith Lord(Lynn B.) and Carla in 1969.

In the promo card that appears in that book, we can see the first Viki (S. L.) with Vinnie Woleck (Anthony P)….as it is a promo card we can see different pics of OLTL from 1968!

Here we can see the first Viki (Sharon L) with A Ponzini….at least she should have taped several scenes as Viki Lord

In her book, One Life, Ellen Holly gets the names mixed up and identifies the first Viki as Trish Van Devere. While I didn't know the correct name of the actress (Sharon Laughlin) when I read the book back in '96, I knew this was an innocent mistake as I was familiar with early cast lists from Robert LaGuardia's Soap World. At any rate, Miss Holly wrote that Laughlin had taped episodes and appeared in on-air promos for OLTL before the show first aired.

I read that Viki's (Gillian Spencer) first scene was in the first episode, appearing on the terrace outside of the French doors of the library at the Lord mansion (the name Llanfair not being used until sometime later).

    • I don't think Chelsea has a true label just yet. She's just finding out she has an interest in women. I think the awkwardness is aligned with the character as we've seen. This is the fool who keeps filming her family when embarrassing things happen and live streaming it. I actually think it's refreshing she isn't just jumping into a relationship  and that they're playing the beats of her trying to figure out who she is.
    • Wow, do I agree with you. Chelsea is coming off as ridiculous. All she does is look for a woman to date while not caring about her business at all. That she's bi is great, but they're not writing her like she's bi. She seems to be lesbian. Yeah, I know -- "no labels." I just don't find the writing for her story to be anything other than awkward.   -- I hope we get some diagnosis finality with Bill's trip to the hospital. I don't want to see these trips to the ER every other day. -- Naomi is going to blame herself for Bill's health problems? GMAB. -- Ashley doesn't read as a real nurse in the slightest. -- Another day, another rinse and repeat conversation with Derek and Ashley. YAWN. -- Kat is making mistakes, but she's fun to watch and listen to, regardless. -- I still think the Joey/Vanessa/Doug gambling story sucks. I know Doug is deeply in debt, but I don't like him acting this meek and submissive.  -- I'm not sure what Joey's plan was from the beginning, or why he had to seduce Vanessa at all to get his way. I'm not sure what Vanessa ever saw in Joey -- why doesn't he give her the ick? -- I'm fine with a story where Doug and Vanessa take out Joey.  -- The fades to commercials were pretty bad today.
    •   Victoria's house (that she long ago lived in with Billy) burned down (I think Aunt Jordan set it ablaze?). Victoria briefly moved into the ranch after the fire, with Claire, Johnny and Katie, I think? Mariah and Tessa and baby Aria had been living in the tack house but they bought a house we've never seen and moved there. Victoria, Claire, and Cole then moved into the tack house as soon as Teriah left. I guess Victoria's children Johnny and Katie would live with Victoria at the tack house eventually? But Johnny and Katie went to boarding school during the school year. Not sure if we'll see Johnny and Katie for the summer vacation or where they would live.
    • Victoria’s previous house burned down.    And I know why characters frequent Crimson Lights 3 times a day for brownies, muffins and empty mugs:   THERE’S PCP IN EVERYTHING.
    • Today was a good episode, and the week for that matter. I think they've also done a better job with background music. The scenes in todays episode weren't as silent as they usually are in the background and it was noticeable. I think the show has found its groove well and I'm still invested.
    • Garneau was in the Liberal party and his riding was in Montreal. He was the first Canadian in outer space.
    • I agree. I really have enjoyed this story from the beginning. I feel like it needed the time for us to care about Doug. They've done a nice job of explaining his motives and making me care for him. I still feel like he's doomed and Vanessa will end up being a widow and now I'm invested in that *not* happening now that I've fallen for him. Friday was good but so was the entire week. I think they're doing such a nice job of keeping things moving. We got good movement with Bill's story this week, Chelsea is attempting to date, Andre and Dani are having tough conversations about their relationship, of course Anita reunited with Sharon. There is *so* much going on and I didn't even cover all of it.  I wish all of the soaps would take a page out of BTG book and start rotating their stories. I love that everybody is getting a chance to shine and they don't just sit on one lead story to the point you get sick of it.
