Absolutely not.  I mentioned that I brought them up to Hal Corley and quickly realized that was the stupidest thing to do (especially with him as he just won't say anything at all rather than say anything negative about anyone he worked with.)  But he certainly wasn't aware of them, nor has anyone else in the biz I've hinted around about them with.  You might almost think they're written by someone else as a parody--when they showed up in Nixon's archive it was just such a shock of "WTF??" that this thing even existed.

I'll have to check out Colin on Insta

I will--I didn't know about the cancer.

I will say with Josh I thought it was ironic (but typical of AMC in that era) that Colin did some of his best work on the show only once the character was already being killed off.  They gave him material with Susan Lucci where he finally addresses what a toll it was for Josh that she never accepted him, etc--stuff the show should have done years before.  (I also liked when they had his character flirting with Greenlee which at that time showed way more potential than Greenlee and Ryan again, but of course they dropped that.  And then to have his character steal from Zach (which seemed justified to me ) and eventually shot by him.  Ugh.  But I know that was Pratt and not McT.

As good as Colin Egglesfield was or might have been, at the end of the day, he was in an impossible situation, playing someone who, barring another retcon (one that revealed that Jeff and Erica's baby did not survive and that Josh was Greg and Emily Madden's biological son), was never going to be accepted by the audience.  Like a poorly bred, poorly socialized dog that gets put down for attacking another dog or a person, Colin and Josh were set up to fail.

Up to August 8th, 1989.

Are they about to flip the script and make it so Erica's dead father is actually alive. Giiiiirl... what the hell is going on. DePriest, bish... what are you doing?

I'm not sure if I'm up for this ride, girl. It's caricaturish...  bizarre... Yet... somehow I'm still waiting to see what will happen. Susan has been selling this strange material to her best ability, but I've got to be frank... Erica falling down at the circus for Barney to save her... was really over the top... and comically depicted. I've got to give that to the Director.

Moving on... The Travis/Barbara story is in a limbo. Jeremy is about to find out what a nasty piece of work Marissa is. I'm here for it!

The kidnapper story finished! I WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY! IT WAS KAREN. I will miss my little fox, since I'm sure we'll never see her again probably. She was a wicked clever one!

Unintentional funny moment - Erica falls down and loses consciousness. Because WHY NOT.

I still don't know if that is indeed Eric Kane. I can't wait to find out.

And about AW... I think someone who knows her (MDP) history on that show can help us with that question. I, myself, have only seen 5 of her AW episodes and they were million times worse than anything under her name on AMC.

I was okay, with the daughters, but a son should have been in the mix. I'm sure they looked at the success of the Faux-silver story and Kendall’s introduction and figured Daughters would provide more drama for her, I digress.

Great idea, I agree! A story this big definitely should be stretched out for a bit of time.

And that's what I like about her.

Same. I always found them more fascinating away from each other. I also enjoyed TPTB having Dixie run the Marinda Center for the online Reboot. Tad was in great form at WRCW and I hoped for more mischief after the affair with Liza.

Tad and Dixie were a couple that if you broke them up, you had to keep them apart and not reunite them unless you were committed to keeping them together forever.

Adam and Brooke were soul mates, but keeping them apart until near the end of the run served both characters well... and once they reunited, they stayed together forever.  I remember fans at the time celebrating when they finally reunited and left together to live their lives outside Pine Valley.
