I already let my feelings known in the recast thread. So i'm happy  to see CBL get her respects. The only crime is that she didn't get to play out Bianca's older storylines. Even though, i was more riveted by her flashbacks to rape during a confrontation with Ricky than i was with Eden's.

 What this?

They really did. I was watching some early 1987 episodes a few months ago and, even knowing how their story ends, I was completely captivated by Ross and Natalie. Before their affair actually starts he thinks she's been sleeping with Adam and there's a scene where he grabs her and says, "Why are you going to bed with him? Why are you going to bed with Adam?" and then kisses her and it. is. scorching. Wasting that kind of chemistry on a rape storyline makes no sense.

Wow where did you find it?

Originally on the Vintage AMC channel on youtube. The channel has since been deleted, but some of the episodes from it are on Internet Archive: https://archive.org/details/AllMyChildren1987Jan-jul

The scene I'm talking about starts at about the 40 minute mark of the January 16th episode.

Hi all

I just came across these articles. Not sure if these have been seen before or discussed, so forgive me if they have

First two from Apr 27, 1995 and another from Oct 21, 1992

I do remember hearing that the Janet planting a bomb story had to be scrapped in light of the OKC bombing, but not that the scenes were initially set to air with a disclaimer. Thankfully, they did the right thing and ultimately didn't air the scenes. Thanks for posting the articles.

So I have never seen the title of Executive Head Writer before. I assume this means Nixon was able to focus on other things and wasn't techinically HW'ing the show, but kept an eye on the show and could maybe over rule any decisions McTavish made? Is it generally assumed McTavish's first run was heavily monitored by Nixon?

^^^^gorgeous photos. The ones in color are truly treasures!

Is it just me or does it seem like, relatively speaking, AMC is more relevant in mainstream media, a decade after its ABC finale, than some/all of the remaining soaps? Not saying any of them are hugely relevant in mainstream media at all, but relatively speaking…

I agree. There's something about it that seems fresher than ever.

Basically. But what I could never understand is the reason for not listing Agnes Nixon's name in the writers' section of the end credits during this period when she was "Executive Head Writer." Her name only appeared under "Created By."

When Agnes came back full time as head writer in the mid- 1990s with Elizabeth Page and Jean Passanante, Agnes's name appeared again in the writers section of the end credits.
