Beautifully written, acted, and directed. Robbed of Emmys all-around!

Agnes Nixon at her finest and the talent of Eden Riegel and Susan Lucci

Even after 13 years it still has lots of intensity

Who won the Emmys that year?

I watched that live at Christmas in my Mom's house a few months after I'd come out to my parents. I sobbed and sobbed. It was the perfect holiday cliffhanger, too.

The story was one of the gutsiest stories ever on daytime. It's easy to forget that now.

I believe it was ATWT for series and writing. Adrienne Frantz for younger actress. Martha Byrne for actress. Boo to all!

I remember wondering if they were scared to give anything to someone playing an openly gay character. Eden didn't win until after Bianca had been raped, which to some sick people out there, means punishment for sins.

And 13 years later, she has a 16 year old daughter! blink.png

I loved Bianca coming out, but I was so worried that Agnes would leave and Bianca would be written off because no one wanted to actually write a lesbian love story. I am so glad that Bianca remained a pretty major character on the show, even though she left and returned several times.

I still wish that Bianca had retained some of her mini-Erica brattiness from the early 90s though. I really enjoyed Erica trying to deal with a little version of herself.

Same.

I've forgotten who played Bob but I recall that Geraldine Court played his mother Mary. As for Mickey Barlowe, that story and character went nowhere.

Was Bob brought in for this story or was he around for a while?

Bob had been around for awhile before this story began. He was Tad's best friend in high school.
