Having lost GL and ATWT as well as Beach and AW back in the day my deepest sympathies to the fans of AMC and OLTL. I don't know enough of the ABC situation, and I could never get into the ABC soaps when I sampled them but I understand the influences they have had over all of daytime history. Amazing in a few short years we went from nine soaps to four. Certainly daytime's darkest day and perhaps the final death knell for the entire genre.

The Biggest Loser is a WEEKLY PRIMETIME show, that is LOSING viewers. IF people dont want to watch it ONCE a week at night...WHY would they want to watch it FIVE DAYS A WEEK when they're not even home?

The main issue is...Television itself (Network TV at least) is running out of ideas. Wooo Hooo Hoooo...It's all been done. (Yes, shoot me. I'm a BNL fan)

Like I was saying Soap Dishes The Cook Book is sure to become a collectors edition. We had know idea how the landscape would change so much in Daytime but are very glad we got 35 of the top stars together in one book to benefit a charity we all believe strongly in. I just got off the phone with Derk and it seems with the news of OLTL & All My Children being canceled that the books are going faster than ever. It seems people know since this is our last Re-print of the book they want to make sure they have a piece of Daytime History Forever.

We just got news that the books are done printing and will be shipped no later than the 20th to anyone who ordered a book. Of course in time for Mothers Day. EWWWWWW! AMC is going to end with Ryan and Greenlee's wedding. I predicted it a few weeks ago and with AMC ending in just a few short months I am POSITIVE that this is how it will go down.

I have to agree that the replacement programming isn't going to do much for the network. If ratings for scripted programming aren't good, other types of programming is going to be even worse. I wouldn't be surprised if ABC ended up like FOX and CW, allocating most of their daytime hours to syndication and local programming.
