April 19, 201114 yr Member I miss SANTA BARBARA. :-( Wasn't "God" just the greatest character/actor EVER? Edited April 19, 201114 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
April 19, 201114 yr Member Wow at the stuff about GH possibly ending next fall. Never thought DAYS would outlive ATWT and all 3 ABC soaps. So glad Hoover is pulling out all their ads from ABC, hopefully others follow suit, stick it to ABC and save our shows even though it is a bit of a stretch and most likely lead to nowhere at least its something.
April 19, 201114 yr Member I tweeted her back with "Hoover! Nobody does it like them." JPL: "Bissell is so much cooler. Am I right, Mr. Frons?" (JPL and Frons fist-bump each other. Farah Fath gives the camera "the finger.")
April 19, 201114 yr Member So Hoover pulling their advertising is bad for primetime too? Is it only daytime or primetime? In either case, ABC could totally blacklist them and decide they never want to do business with them again. They better be careful with this. Every allocated airspace is replaceable these days.
April 19, 201114 yr Member Advertisers might be willing to clamour to get in there to be first at trying to make a buck off these new shows. I am sure initially anyway these two shows may very well bring in numbers equal to what the soaps were or perhaps a little more.... purely on buzz alone. Come December 1st following "The Chew"'s first sweeps period is when advertisers will really be able to gauge the importance and relative worth of ad buys on ABC Daytime. There never seems to be any buzz for these shows though. They are full of mostly unknowns to the average viewer and supposedly The Revolution is so chaotic they had to put it off by several months. If the advertisers get the vibe that these shows are just to fill up time and will never be any type of even a modest success, then they are going to draw a line.
April 19, 201114 yr Member Call me a right cynical bitch but someone at Hoover PR is a marketing genius. Hoover knew the first sponsor to speak out would get the most gravy from soap fans and jumped to the top of that line. Now they get to market themselves as the company who CARES versus big bad wolf ABC. Of course Hoover doesn't want anyone to know ABC daytime and primetime ratings sucked so bad they aren't really hurting by putting their ad dollars elsewhere.
April 19, 201114 yr Member From Kassie DePaiva's Facebook page, not her personal one, her fanpage, but she posts on it: I support my fans and their love for their favorite daytime dramas. These soap operas are and have been a part of their lives for decades. And I salute these fans for fighting for them til the bitter end. I'm proud to be a part of this wonderful American form of entertainment. My wish is they will live on!!!! I love One LIFE to LIVE!!!!

I have a pic of me on twitter giving Frons the finger. Oh and about KDP's post. She's awesomeness. Full of Kentucky feist just like me. Edited April 19, 201114 yr by weareclouds
April 19, 201114 yr Member The true test will come tonight when those soap fans who threatened all but little kittens are making their grand stand with the boycotting of DWTS. If there's a significant decrease in ratings then it will be a small success to those fans. I didn't boycott Dancing with the Stars. Watching it right now and enjoying every minute of it. I do not plan on boycotting ABC and will watch what I want to on the network. In fact, there are plenty of people who are not soap people who will still watch this show. The ratings will not be affected.

Well, thank you for those words, KdP, even if you can't act for [!@#$%^&*].
April 19, 201114 yr Member Well, thank you for those words, KdP, even if you can't act for [!@#$%^&*]. God, thank you! I used to think I was the only one with that opinion. I've never liked her acting, even in her GL days I thought she sucked and hasn't grown much as an actress since then.
