You know, every time I see this over-the-top outpouring of love for MCE (who I loved, too!), I'm always tempted to remind people that Annie was as useless as, probably more useless than, Marissa for the better part of her run. Annie could have given up the ghost at any time over her first three years and nobody would have cared. Marissa is nowhere near a lost cause, all they have to do is find the thing that makes her tick. Which ain't hard to do because her mother sold her, for goodness's sake. I know I complained in the past about Marissa throwing that in Krystal's face in completely unrelated situations whenever she couldn't have her way, but if the show went head first into her just outright hating Krystal and wanting nothing to do with her, then I can roll with that. It'd take some work getting to a point where Marissa decides she can't get over it (pull out another secret, a plausible one that didn't necessarily have to come out when the original reveal happened), but it'd be worth it.

Do people like her in scenes w/ AJ? No.

Do they like her w/ JR? No

Do they like w/ David? at this moment, she's a mistake/oh btw creation of his

Does she make sense w/ the Martins? No

Do people want her w/ Scott? Not Daniel Cosgrove's

Do they want her w/ Bianca? that seems to be the only place for her, and even w/ that I don't see LoBro just forgetting about Reese or Maggie for Bianca.

So as of now since what April 2009 has this character done anything worth talking about? I'm ecstactic/relieved that her end will soon come, b/c like me I know it must sicken LoBro to write for her.

Oh, Sarah Michelle Geller is coming back?

There is nothing watchable about Budig and Minshew and never was. They literally drove me away from the show.

I miss her too.

There is, it's just been crumpled in the best BFF RELATIONSHIP EVAH! and winds up w/ Kendall propping that couple we've all been waiting for.

Wow, just wow. I cant beleive you just compared Marissa to early Annie. Annie has ALWAYS been a much more interesting character than Marissa even when she first debuted.

WTF, Reese and Maggie? Why on god's green earth would she recast Maggie or recast Reese when she can just roll with Bianca and Marissa? That makes absolutely no sense to me.

Annie was boring as hell when she first appeared. We all know this.

Because she really doesn't care for the character. She wrote that thing far away from David and Kwak. Bianca returned when LoBro wasn't head writing, one thing that she would never do or continue is write things that aren't sensible, she knows how Bianca and Reese or Maggie have a hugher following than anything w/ Marissa, plus I'm not sure that LoBro would have faith w/ SaG in that type of a s/l.

Annie wasn't helped w/ Ryan as her leading man. Lets be honest there, Cam Mathison isn't exactly special in his field.

@iluvford123 "Safe" is not the word I'd use. Reprieve is more accurate, and short reprieve at that.

ABC soap fans, don't become complacent. KEEP calling, emailing, etc. David and Donna's contracts were up. They had to hire a new head.

All head writer contracts are "multi-year". Not being a negative nelly, but Lorraine could just be to wrap the show. Tell Anne Sweeney NO!

We have to let ABC know we want AMC and OLTL to continue. Write in, call, keep the fires burning, because AMC nor OLTL are safe. I'm sorry.

@delibernation We are going to post contact info on DC. This is no joke. ABC is still planning to gut both those shows.

@delibernation I got happy yesterday too, but my sources say smoke and mirrors. Lorraine is just to write the endgame.

@delibernation I think the fans have a right to know this. We are all invested. If Jericho fans could mobilize after a season, imagine...

Yeah...still not making any sense to me. You don't know what LB wants to do with any character. Even if she didn't see any potential in Marissa a year ago, she might see potential with this Bianca thing.

I don't really care why she sucked, though. Either way, she was boring/useless/extra/unnecessary.

As much as I concur that AMC/OLTL fans need to speak up and speak out, Jamey Giddens has some nerve pretending he fears for AMC's future.

More tweets from Jamey Giddens as I couldn't use that many quotes in one post.

I also hear ABC doesn't want to give an official statement until Susan's book tour ends.

Now is not the time to stick or heads in the sand, or be coddled by a press release.

Brian Frons is also on vacation this week. Middle of April was when the announcements were moved to.

@delibernation Your sources are pretty accurate. I heard now OLTL will go first, then AMC, but they will be within months of each other.

Brian Frons does not want these shows to continue. Send your letters, calls, emails (all polite and sane...) to Anne Sweeney.

Brian Frons micromanaged these shows into the ground, now he wants to replace them with new toys.

No she wasnt. She was one of my favorite characters and I loved her romance with Ryan. She was ALOT more interesting than Marissa could ever hope to be

I dont get this either. How can CD claim to know what LB wants with Bianca or the character of Marissa as she is today?

This is true. IIRC she was friends with Erin Lavery who was also fairly boring. Annie was routinely considered to be nothing more than a Greenlee placeholder. The reason I love MCE isn't so much because I loved Annie that much, although I really did enjoy her, it's because I remember when Missy Claire was constantly on the bubble. It was always just a matter of time before she was let go because "nobody cared" about Annie. Then Annie went crazy and MCE hit her stride. She took all those people who counted her out and made them eat their words.

Of course, I'm always loyal to actors first, characters second and shows last. Regardless, I don't think Marissa is a completely lost cause but I do think it would be in the best interest of the show to get rid of the remnants of the Careysm both Krystal and Marissa. Throw JR in the mix with Kendall, Greenlee, Scott, Madison, Ryan, etc...
