I'm not so sure that large numbers of children are needed. Ryan's Hope had something like 4 children in it's run. Now, when the average woman has 2, soap characters are still having 4. I really think soap children should be few and far between and seen and not heard. Carly was completely ruined by having all these kids. It's insane.

I think JJ is doing a great job. The rest are passable.

Umm, I don't find that believable at all. Last I checked Sam f*cked her step dad and stood by while Jason's baby was kidnapped. If that's positive, I'd hate to see what negative writing entails.

I had the opposite response. Friday I wasn't feeling it but today JJ made me cry.

And Carly - I know she's going to be blasted but she did that with as much grace as the situation allowed.

I think all of them were totally in character and doing what needed to be done. Love how the Spencers were all there for each other and it was agreed that Edward didn't need to know.

As for the comparison with the Balkan story - I think it's about one being well thought out and the other being a hot mess of "fixes" as it went along. Obviously this story has been well drawn with top players all the way. The Balkan story didn't have the weight of history or well drawn characters. Comparing the two, the Balkan was obviously stuffed with filler.

LOL! I had that the same thought. No doubt that Kelly is a Frons favorite, but all this talk about her getting positive writing has no basis in reality. On top of that, Sam is nothing, but an appendage to Jason. IMO, Sam was only interesting when she was apart from Jason and involved with Lucky in a more balanced relationship.

I agree and that time sure didn't last long. It's like it never happened now. Plus, Sam is just a jason appendage, but she wasn't worthy to be the mother of his child. They brought Liz in to do that. I don't think it went they way they hoped for whatever reasons, but during that period of time, that was the decision. I have a hard time believing that was supposed to be positive for Sam and negative for Liz.

you are absolutely right. I checked it out myself...Maxie first fell ill on Feb 14, 1994, was ill on and off (conjunctivitis and fevers) before finally diagnosed with Kawasaki Syndrome on March 10. Maxie was then treated for the Kawasaki syndrome and it wasn't until April 22 that they found out she had heart failure. Mac went off to find Frisco during the first few weeks of May and BJ's accident took place on May 13, with the resulting transplant drama playing out over the following week (May 16 - 20).
