Paul Rauch OUT at 'Y&R'

Though, given how arrogant Maria is, I wouldn't be surprised if she thought she was now experienced enough to handle the day to day production matters.

Nelson seems to think there won't be a replacement, I still think it's too early to call as Rauch won't be leaving until April 1st.

Maria is an unmitigated disaster! She can't be a line producer. Look at the way she dresses. You know she'd have every set on that show looking like vomit.

If she stays "Executive Producer," I could see her assigning the day-to-day line producing duties to someone like Anthony Morina.

Gosh...I can't imagine her honestly believing she's capable enough to be Executive Producer! Poor Y&R!

Nelson said that Rauch is moving back to New York and his last day on set will be April 1st. So, I guess it will be a while before they announce any replacement.

His last day is on April Fools Day...what irony.....lol

Well, I hope he does leave, since he's not big on color.

Are ANY of them "big on color?"

Look at the way Hogan treated minorities on ATWT.

And Maria's evasive "We're still trying to develop nuMalcolm, Sofia" and her comments to Tonya Lee Williams about getting "that black storyline" up and going.

I know you think this is an ace in the hole for Y&R, but nothing is gonna change as long as the hacks writing this crap are in charge.

THANK THE LORD!!!!! :) :) :) I actually almost jumped for joy when i read this. I don't mean to sound pre-mature but i have high hopes for the show to get back on some tracks....One down three more to go now right?...

You know how I feel about Lying MAB. But I knew that black storyline was going to pop on Black History Month, now they got a black writer maybe it would last into March. But Paul Racist has a longer track record goes way back to OLTL.

If Christopher Goutman was hired to be EP and stuck to that job that could possibly be good for Y&R. ATWT improved greatly when he first took over. The last few years Goutman became the de facto head writer of the show did things go south. I remember interviews where he said he knew what was best for ATWT and his vision was better then what the fans thought.(I am paraphrasing here.)

Personally,I'd like to see Ed Scott come back. I doubt that would happen though!

Aside from the location stuff(that was out of his control), Christopher Goutman kept ATWT from looking like dog sh*t in its final years.

She's already scooped up enough on-air AMC "talent." I think it's only appropriate that she turn to those behind-the-scenes at AMC for new hires. C'mon Maria, give JHC a call. I'm sure she'd love to hear from you :)

Actually ATWT was pretty diverse(Ben, Jessica, Issac, Bonnie, Walker etc) under Sheffer at ATWT. However, I think this quote from soap columnist Tom Smith made at the end of 2002 sums it up best:

DIVERSITY AWARD: As the World Turns

Seriously. Not only has ATWT brought their long-adrift African-American characters to the front burner, they’ve put them in plots that are just as asinine as the other stories! Nothing says equality like equal suffering.
