Damon and Bridges look stellar and maybe Roger Deakins can finally win an Oscar!

John Wayne made some great movies. He is under-appreciated because he is John Wayne and it is easy to dismiss him. But he said it best when he said (and this may not be word for word) "I was good enough for John Ford." John Ford is now a name receding into time, but he has been called one of the best director of classic Hollywood and the gold standard. He turned out masterpieces that are worth seeking out.

Anyway, TRUE GRIT is not one of these classics. It got Wayne his Oscar but that was probably more for 40 years worth of work.
