Thanks!

I mixed up Chris with Trish (the first actress to play the role of Chris Brooks. By the way, this one is the second actress).

If John McCook as Lance Prentiss appeared for the last time in may 1980, these scenes should be early 1980. I wonder why Lance and Lorie were having a so heated argument. He seems very upset and she seems very sad in the last gif.

So cute! It kills me that someone recorded the promos, but never the episodes. I think Nikki is wearing the outfit from when she met with Rose in December 1979 to set up the rendezvous with Walter Addison.

Isn't the blonde in the second gif Leslie with her hair blonde as "Priscilla."

In February 1980, Lorie was forced by Vanessa to divorce Lance, supposedly for his own good. Vanessa was going to reinstate him at Prentiss only if she divorced him. He had been very depressed losing his place to Lucas. I really hate those stories where people who love each other get a divorce due to external causes (also done with Leslie/Brad and Lauren/Paul).

Ciao!

I thought the same, that the blond was Leslie in disguise due to her amnesia.

If those scenes are from december 1979, 10 months of full episodes aired in Italy before that promo. So I suppose italian episodes started from US february 1979 episodes (just right when Melody Thomas Scott debuted as Nikki).

Just read the last part, thanks.

So in 1980 she chose Lance's well-being and his leading position at Prentiss Industries instead of her own happiness in love. Ironically 2 years later Lance lost the company due to a Lorie's mistake. She was played by Victor. Eventually she managed to give the company back to Lance. Her last love gift to him before leaving Genoa City.

Of course-like Leslie I had a memory lapse.

The selfless sacrifice story always strikes me as an easy writer cop out eg Brad not telling Les he is going blind, Lorie telling Lance she no longer loves him to give him back Prentiss etc.

With  a little more thought and imagination the story could have progressed without characters looking like idiots.

As for Leslie/Pris that story was a bomb from the get go. There was enough intrigue with the 4L's without sending Leslie off on this tangent.

Does everyone know about the Lilyan Chauvin interviews on Youtube, circa 1989-91?

LC played Pierre's sister Marianne from '73-74 and then Kay and Esther's captor Lil from '89-90.  LC was also a UCLA professor and did these celebrity interviews as educational for young people looking to get into showbiz.

Here's the overall playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNgU0a9tCKImJPwhT8H9icpRIPU3t8L1i

YR people on the list...

- Robert Clary: this was my favorite. What a life he led. He talks the most about YR, and Days too. I didn't know LC also played his sister on Days. Per Jason47's website, she played "Suzanne" on Days from 79-80.

- Morey Amsterdam: this interview was probably filmed right after Morey and Lil finished their stint on YR.  Another guy with a fascinating career.

- Christopher Templeton: what a delightful lady. Barely talks about YR, though.

- Jeanne Cooper: also barely talks about YR and has quite a few stream-of-consciousness monologues

 God love her

There's also a Lee Phillip Bell interview but she only talks about BnB so I'll post it there.

I've been meaning to ask... anyone know this actress who appeared on the May 29-30, 1990 episodes? Rex grabs her out of the hallway because he and Jill need a witness for their wedding. She looks so familiar.

I believe this is Pat Crawford Brown!
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0114390/?ref_=tt_cst_t_12

She also appeared again later in the show in 1996 as the flower seller, Nathan buys flowers from, before he gets run over.

I think she's been in a lot of movies and shows as a character actress, she also played one of the choir nuns in "Sister Act"

LOL i totally missed that connection with "My Guy"  "Sister Act" is lowkey a favorite movie of mine too!

on IMDB, it says she appeared on the show throughout 1998-2000 as well. She was always somebody you just saw in every movie and tv show at some point, like that other older actress I can't think of, but it's also somebody who was on Y&R as well too.

This clip is probably already around but at about 20 minutes Chevy Chase shows a short clip of Tom Selleck as Jed Sanders and Tom then briefly talks about the show.

(trigger warning for Chevy Chase)

    • I'm not sure how I felt about it, but I do kind of like that it felt like the show telling us this concludes the first chapter of the series. Could be interesting if they only do it for big aftermath episodes. The biggest mistake with Martin is that it's almost hard to buy his anger because we've gotten no strong scenes with him and his parents. They've all been with Anita/Vernon. I can't even remember him ever even saying one word to Nicole, even in passing.
    •   Thank you! Agreed on both posts. And the comments about Mike Manning are nonsense.
    • I haven't watched yet, but did they explain the current ownership of The Bistro?  Because when RonC was writing, wasn't he applying for work with Sophia?
    • I think Brandon has gotten better in normal day to day scenes, but he’s very over the top when the character is meant to be angry or agitated. I did laugh when she started yelling at Leslie and then when he started to throw all those damn books, lol. He needs an acting coach to work out some of these kinks.
    • I've never found him as bad as some. I think he's always shined in scenes with Vernon, who should be his father. I also think he has great chemistry with Kat and Dani which I hope they tap into more over time. Dani/Martin feel like such a fun and believable Auntie/Nephew relationship.
    • I'm fighting for my life on another board for my husband Brandon and I'll do it here too lmao
    • I don't expect Lois to be the same person she was 25 years ago, but she's definitely lost a lot of what made Lois unique.  It's clear the show doesn't know how to write for her, and the sole purpose of Lois is to hide this Gio secret.  It's a shame she doesn't interact with more of the canvas.  It's a waste of Rena's talents. I like Brook Kerr most of the time.  She can be hit or miss.  I totally get what you are saying about her line readings too.  I honestly think the character really suffers being stuck in the Curtis pairing.  She's much better than Tanisha Harper's Jordan lol.
    • Friday and yesterday's episode is what daytime television should be. The other shows airing could take a page from yesterday's show.  I loved the rage, hurt and anger Nicole unleashed on Ted.  Daphnee should be up for an Emmy nom for these scenes.  It broke my heart to see how Dana had locked Eva out.  I do feel sorry for Eva.    I am still bumfuzzled as to why Leslie/Dana went to the DuPree's and asked them to accept Kat UNLESS Eva is really Kat's twin (and really Nicole and Ted's daughter that maybe they though they lost or an embryo Dana/Leslie stole??) I loved how Anita and Vernon both shot her down.    Ohhh and let me just say Friday and yesterday was the MOST fire I have seen Martin have since the show started.  Maybe Brandon Clayborn is coming into his own with the role finally.
