Y&R: Old Articles

I never understood why Colby was let go on Y&R in the early 90's. He had a lot of potential as a leading man and could have been paired with several of the ladies. The same with killing off Rod Arrants as Steve. Steve could have paired up with Nikki when Victor married Ashley.

What I take most from that is the gorgeous production values and the amazing direction in bits like the closeup on Victor's face when he bursts the door open.

Ironic that Braeden praises the complexity of daytime when he sees Victor as such a cartoon.

I just saw this on You Tube and came here to see whether anyone had placed this video in the thread and it was already doneB).  Did anyone else's ears perk up when the narrator mentioned 10 million viewers??! Oh how times have changed.

It also dawned on me that back then, very few, if any of the soap opera master headwriters were even based in L.A./Burbank, most wrote far away from 'Television City'.

Your welcome! :) still got a bit more 93, as well as more 1989 and 1994......I'm going out of order a bit, but I'll get it all up soon!

I love that pic! :)  I'm glad Jess and Michael have remained good friends all of these years....I honestly would have gladly taken David returning from the dead in a heartbeat over anything else these last few years.....
