Agree, that hair toss was epic.

@will81 Thank you for the clips guide. I can't believe Christmas 1981 is in there but no Victor/Nikki scenes. I really want to see the scenes of where we first learn of Victor's childhood. EB has always credited those scenes w/ his decision to stay on past Victor's initial storyline. Bill Bell creating the back story of Victor's childhood and his becoming a self-made man opened up so many more layers to Victor's character instead of him being just a one-dimensional villain.

They probably learned their lesson from Y&R then lol, unless I’m completely misunderstanding.

Thank you for this! Just imagine if all of these were Kay and/or Jill edits….one can dream LOL.

@BoldRestless and anyone else who might be interested. I have edited together the Nov 81 and Dec 81 clips in order and put them in the vault in two files under the 1981 clips section as Lorie Edits with the dates if you want to watch in order. They are long (about 2hrs) and 2GB files

I am not 100% on the Lorie and Lance having dinner clip being in the right place as SOD states around that week that they had a dinner with Vanessa at Lorie's apartment. But their intimate dinner alone was Nov 81 based on their conversation, so I had to guess.

@kalbir Yes I was hoping for more too and that scene with Victor sounds like a pivotal one and would be great to see. So far only the Oct 15 partial ep has other characters. I do wonder if these came from the same source as the original vault clips and if the youtube channel has a different set of edits starting in 1982. Or possibly more full episodes from 1982.

I know right!! Now I'm refreshing Paul Ditty's main page multiple times per day, like I used to do with archive.org

I think he has a limited amount of "Innocent Years" vids yet to debut... previously in his playlist, he had like 10 vids that were private. In the comments for one of his vids, someone asked him, "what are the private vids"? he replied "oh I didn't know anyone else could see those!" And those aren't visible in the playlist anymore. So - I think he pre-loaded all his "Innocent Years" vids, and is making them public, one each day. So, probably not too many vids left. I'd love to be wrong, though!

Yeah hopefully he has more full eps. The first full ep we got from the original uploads was somewhere around Mar 3, 1982 or there abouts. So hope we can bridge that. It would be awesome if he has a ton more and more of the intro of the Abbotts and more Jill.

Also confirmation that Wes Kenney was with the show at least from Feb 01, 1982. I get the feeling the end credits began listing everyone when he started rather than just the people in the episode. I wonder when he officially took over

I was wondering if Conboy was still around by this point, but I'm glad this episode confirms Kenney had already started...unless this is his very first produced episode, I'm guessing Conboy left very early January 82, or maybe even December 81.

Thank you! I just watched the whole thing, I couldn’t wait! Even the commercials. Wow, there were lots of toothpaste ads back then. And Molly Ringwald at the very end.

The first 18 minutes of the full 1 hour 22 min clip are probably from Monday 1/4/82, the next ep after the New Year’s Eve Victor/Nikki “Dirty Stinker” kiss. At 6:00, there’s a glimpse of Paul waking up in Aspen with Barbara, hungover after getting drunk on champagne the night before.

Hearing the aftermath of the courtroom revelation that Lance is Brooks’ father really makes me want to see that!  (even considering Dennis Cole has no acting ability)

I love Cash Cashman and Katherine! As of 2/1/82, they’re exploring his backstory – and a month later he’s dead? Ugh I think they killed him off to make room for the Bancrofts and Katherine’s “romance with Earl, which IMO was DOA.

Does l’il Michael Damian wear a retainer at this point? He has that slight slur to his speech. So cute.

Loved Lorie’s recounting of the ’76 shooting by Vanessa. Didn’t Snapper treat Lance’s bullet wound? Wonder if he could have helped Lorie’s case somehow…

    • Ted has been too-good-to-be-true-on-the-surface guy from the get go. It's always these guys that end up having a secret mistress with 2 children on the side or are secretly bisexual and sleeping with men while they wifey thinks she is living the dream. Even the way Dani was talking about them in the beginning... I knew it was coming. The show was hinting at it. And it came.  I have nothing against the show writing a second affair, when it's used to present this exact type of message. That the two sisters end up dealing with a similar catastrophe. I would have had problems with it... if it was not written the way it is. But I have no problems with it right now. And I love how the focus is not just on the affair, but on Ted's overall character. His dark side. And, no, you don't need to be a serial killer or a lunatic with a knife to be a bad guy. Sometimes just making bad decisions that end up hurting your entire family makes you that.
    • Oh, really? I didn't see that at all. Ted's only been loving and supportive, even with this reveal I still haven't seen anything too dark from him. Shitty father and husband, sure. My one nitpick is that they could have accomplished that without having another affair though.
    • Remember post-ATWT how Brooke Alexander was in eight million commercials and home improvement shows?  She was the epitome of a millennial consumer surrogate. Meanwhile, Kelly Menighan worked the heck out of the short hairdo for years, and never got a beauty contract.  TBH, her whole vibe gave Midwest suburbs, as interpreted through the eyes of a Manhattan costume department with a network budget for designer goods. She was definitely sophisticated given her limited access to shopping at Lisa's Boutique in Oakdale.

    • Absolutely agree. Nicole's reaction to Ted, and Kat's reaction to Eva, will be interesting.
    • One tiny problem. Apparently she just inked a new deal. All it means, though, is that they will want to get some mileage out of her before they implement the DRW50 Master Plan. What do ya think? 6 months too short? 3 years def too long. A year and a half?
    • Your haughtiness amuses me in return. Like you think you know ALL?
    • I've seen this error before. I think it should be okay in the future.

    • Ted has been icky and giving off bad guy vibe from the first moment I saw him. I have a sensor for that and it was beeping! So...don't put all the blame on Silkpress. The woman needs a good psychiatrist, true... but Leslie is just one of the skeletons in HIS closet. Ted is even a bigger monster, because he's hidden.  IT WAS A PERFECT REVEAL. Perfect, because in the beginning of the show... Dani was envying her sister's marriage... In these first few messy weeks... her own misery and life spiraling was contrasted to the picture-perfect marriage Nicole and Ted seemed to have. (on first glance). What happened now... is very very smart writing. THIS IS THE MOMENT THE MASKS ARE FALLING! The message it delivers to me is this. It says - no matter how things look... they are not what they seem. You can't judge a marriage by how it appears to be. Aaaand in the long run... maybe the messiest-looking people (Dani Dupree, I'm talking about you!) HAVE less issues and problems than the ones that seem to have it all. The ones with the MOST skeletons in the closets and the dirty pasts.   It was an AHA moment for the whole family and the viewers and a way forward for Dani and Nicole to bond even more and realize they are MORE alike than they are different. Now it will be quite a different dynamic, because Dani will have to SUPPORT someone and not be the one getting her wounds licked always. And also another lesson. Some men are dogs. Not all of them. But a lot of them are. The difference is... some can't be easily recognized. These creeps have put very impressive masks. The show is doing this perfectly. Beat by beat. Exploring classic soap opera themes and stories. Real-life characters and situations, that are relatable and make you think... Hmm... maybe I need to dig a little deeper next time I say "these people are perfect" or otherwise. Maybe I need to think MORE. That type of storytelling. It's not easy to do that.  Brava BTG.  B-R-A-V-A!
